Roy Moore: NFL Players Who Refuse To Stand For The Anthem Are Breaking The Law, You Know
Hot Air ^ | October 18, 2017 | Allahpundit

Anyone within a mile of libertarianism on the political spectrum will dry-heave upon reading this but I admire the cunning behind his pander. Moore could have gone with a tried-and-true call to arrest all flag-burners, as there’s a large audience receptive to that argument within the GOP, but it wouldn’t have been topical. Nationalists would appreciate it but it’d have no bite. Suggesting that the Kaepernicks of the world are guilty of a federal offense while the debate over NFL anthem protests is raging, though?

Proper etiquette cannot be mandated.

Sure it can, try all this crap in NK or China or any Muslim nation that practices Sharia. Behavior is mandated at every Ivy league college even now.

..if he shuts up he will win in a landslide.

To be fair, I thought the same thing last November but Donald Trump won anyway.

“They destroy everything they touch.”

Indeed they do.

But it’s a difficult way to garner suburban votes.

Way hard.

“but as a relative political novice”

As with all humans, all you have to do is make them mad, or put them under pressure.

“Try and get a top secret security clearance if you are on record as knowingly and willfully violating it.”

I am absolutely certain nobody has been denied a Top Secret security clearance for failing to stand for the national anthem.

I am equally certain many have been denied that clearance for being stupid.

Did you notice the terms “knowingly and willfully”?

Showing deliberate disrespect for the flag is seditious.

“Did you notice the terms “knowingly and willfully”?”

Yes.

You can be a past drug user and homo and get a Top Secret.

Anything in your past absent a felony is usually forgiven if remorse is expressed and commitment given not to repeat.

However, a single lie upon query can sink you.

I guess they have low standards these days.

No wonder there are no secrets anymore.

For conservatives facts mean following the law, for libtards it means breaking the law.

The players have a Constitutional right to protest the way they do.

You must a be a victim of the government run school system, because otherwise you should have learned that Bill of Rights, generally, and the the "speech clause" in the 1st Amendment, specifically, only apply to the government, not private employers.

There’s a lot of “Should” in that statute.

In other words, it’s not compulsory, because making this compulsory would violate the First Amendment.
