The Jacksonville Jaguars have apologized to military leaders for demonstrating during the national anthem in London last month.
Jaguars President Mark Lamping sent a letter to the director of military affairs and veterans in Jacksonville saying the team was ''remiss in not fully comprehending the effect of the national anthem demonstration on foreign soil has had on the men and women who have or continue to serve out country.'' The letter was forwarded to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry on Monday and available via his public email.

Now at least one NFL team is apologizing. This is probably not a sincere apology. They are just worried about empty seats.
Im sorry you were offended by us protesting against the racist United States... so now please give me money.
F.O.A.D.!!!!
Too late, too late!
There was no "oversight", and the Jags are of course lying to cover up what they really cannot.
Apology, if you want to call it that, is not acceptable.
(Full disclosure, I'm not from the Jag's local area, and I do not speak for the Vets for whom the alleged apology was given.)
The Jaguar President needs to resign—if he is serious about his apology.
Actions speak louder than words.
Remember:
The NFL hates you.
This is going over like a fart in a diving bell.
Below is at kickoff this past Sunday.

They have lost 3 games this season, all of them at home.
Meaningless unless it comes from the kneeling players.
Mmmhmmm.
So what happened? Did your knees just collapse all by themselves?
Well GFY
Meaningless. Period.
No excuses
Wait, the team apologized but not the actual players who did it??!!
I’m a soon to be former season ticket holder for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mark Lamping is just a lackey. Shad Khan, the owner, is directly responsible for supporting the protest in London. Khan needs to apologize and grovel for forgiveness to the citizens and veterans of Jacksonville. I think the Jaguar organization was shocked at the empty seats at first home game since the London debacle and the full impact of their stupidity has hit home.
Khan has squandered away all the good will he was afforded from the citizens of Jacksonville. Trust and respect once lost is “very” difficult to win back. I think the NFL has dug a very deep hole and it will be hard to climb out...
Nope. They need to own the kneel. They did it. They mouthed off. They’re stuck with it. This isn’t golf so no mulligans.
Beyond question this is not a sincere apology. No probably about it.
Nor did the owner, who participated personally in the kneel-down in London.
2. Then, invite Floridian and veteran Allen West to speak to the team and front office about the lie in which Kaepernicks protest is built on, and how the actions of the NFL and the other teams remain an insult to Americans who pay the taxes and fight the wars, and have long since moved on concerning racial relationships..
3. Then, schedule the team and front office in right alongs with the Jacksonville Police Department or county sheriff.
Until then fck off. The adults are in charge now.
Well golly, the team President sent a letter...
Here’s a question for him: What exactly motivated you to send this now? It’s been a few weeks. Did the days of navel gazing finally result in the epiphany that his team and owner insulted the country that has provided so much for them? Or was it crapatastic realization that your brand has been diminished and fans are ignoring you? Just curious. . .
That’s what I don’t get. In business classes, one of the things that was beaten into us was good will.
Good will is not debatable. It is imperative for any business to thrive.
Unlike others here at FreeRepublic I don't want the NFL to go away.
It can be fun and entertaining. I won't put up with any disrespect for our country or its people.
But I will accept their apology and hope things improve.
