Sounds like your day’s been good. Savin’ the world tonight with your son sounds like a fun way to end the day. :-)

Howdy do, Conor. *HUGZ*
My guess is you and Mrs. MacNessa are enjoying the break from renovations. It’s been a busy, chaotic summer for y’all.

Howdy, radu! How ya doin’?
Did you have a good day today? Is the cool front finally there? We’re supposed to have a heat-up before another cool front comes in on Sunday.
We went to see Dulcie this afternoon. She was awake, but not her usual cheerful self. I asked how she felt, and she answered “not too good”. She’s never that negative. She is eating and drinking stuff, though, and is getting her meds and her vitals taken.

Indeed. Tolstoy himself dallied with Marxism during his misspent youth but as he grew older became very espoused with the idea of The "Russkaya Dusha", or the Russian Soul. This was inseparable from the Rodinya, ie: The Land, the Monarchy, and the Russian Orthodox Faith. Russia herself has had a history that is almost parallel to Tolstoy's life, with its 80 year dark night of Socialism, a brief spate of American-Style Republican Government and "modern" thinking, and then a reaching into the Traditional past with a revival of the Church, veneration of the Romanovs as Martyrs, a Folk revival, and even some of the bellicose actions of Russia's Imperial Past. It's quite interesting to see it unfold.
Dostoevsky had a similar epiphany. I just finished reading his "The Possessed" and his description of 19th Century "Social Justice Warriors" seemed so much like those today: Vapid, ill-informed, depressed, childish, and , in the end, without hope. (SPOILER: Everyone in that book dies horribly in the end!)

The front didn’t make it this far until around suppertime so it was a bit warm and muggy today. A couple of coolish days ahead, a little warm-up for the weekend, then it’ll cool off again next week.
Glad to hear Dulcie’s eating and drinking again. Sad she’s not her usual chipper self though. Maybe once she’s built up a little more strength, her mood will improve.

All this hiking, throne-sitting, and 19th Century Russian Novel Analyzing has tired me out!

Hey now, how can he concentrate on his homework and play video games? :-) Somehow, I get the feeling he’s managing to pull it off.
It was grocery shopping day so I’m sore from lugging all the bags of cat food but the kittehs are happy. They’ll eat for another week. LOL

I sure hope so. They had told hubby that she might get out of the hospital and go back to the PT facility. Then we’re thinking of having her come here when medicare quits paying for her stay there. She’s totally not ready to go to an independent apartment. May never be ready, unfortunately. :(
