LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - Mandalay Bay staff did not call Las Vegas police until after Stephen Paddock had already begun firing on the concertgoers, according to "World News Tonight" on ABC.
Their information comes from an anonymous source who has reviewed records from the hotel-casino.
According to the report, Mandalay Bay staff did not call police when security guard Jesus Campos reported internally that someone was shooting on the 32nd floor. Nor did they call police when building engineer Stephen Schuck also reported internally that someone was firing at him on the 32nd floor.
About six minutes after shots were fired inside the hotel, Paddock began firing outside at the crowd, according to Sheriff Joe Lombardo.
MGM Resorts spokesperson Debra DeShong wrote in a statement on Tuesday that the company does not believe this timeline is accurate:
This remains an ongoing investigation with a lot of moving parts. As evidenced by law enforcement briefings over the past week, many facts are still unverified and continue to change as events are under review. We cannot be certain about the most recent timeline that has been communicated publically, and we believe what is currently being expressed may not be accurate.We understand the public’s desire for information and the importance of getting our community and the public at large the information they deserve, and we are doing everything we can to support law enforcement’s efforts to do so. Therefore, it is not appropriate for us to comment further at this time on what remains an open matter for law enforcement.
Las Vegas police say they'll have an updated and more complete timeline on Friday.
Someone called from his vehicle at 10:08 (I think) and said he could see the flashes in the window.
Someone called from the room directly below Paddock and said shooter was one floor up. Did he call 9-11.
Frankly, I think it was a miracle that someone was checking something on the 32nd floor and it rattled Paddock enough to blow his meticulous schedule and bust up a plan for an even deadlier night.
I think everyone did their job the best they could under unbelievable circumstances. Don't knock them. They deserve every bit of support that we can give them.
There were more than two threads here yesterday reporting that that he was short the corporation.
It's a very sad story.
They also said a little later that all chargers and their mates were accounted for.

I am still uncertain about which if any organizations (fed or otherwise) are involved.
however, i can well imagine that the LV sheriff has to watch what he says because of insurance considerations. depending on how the attack was carried out, the insurance lawyers could claim that the hotel or some other party (security firm? LV police? etc) was negligent.
The insurance companies probably have a vested interest in pinning the mass murder down as a “lone nut” who acted alone so as to simplify legal ramifications. There is probably a small army of lawyers that are waiting to rip into lucrative retainers and settlements over this. The LV LE and feds are presumably well aware of this. Their natural inclination will be to limit evidence and even possibly to destroy evidence that does not fit an extremely simple scenario. Anything else creates additional, potentially more difficult work for them. At the high level, the hotel owners are no doubt pressuring LV LE for very simple answers that just happen to exhonerate the hotel. Multiple people involved probably creates a huge problem for the hotel in terms of negligence, culpability and insurance. Thus the #1 priority is to establish some guy (any guy) as the lone nut. Get the lone nut theory out there quickly (facts be damned), stick to it, ride it, die by it.
Whether true or not there will be many lawsuits against Mandalay.
