Democrats Panicking Over Virginia, Show Signs of Post-Trump Stress Disorder
New York Magazine ^ | October 11, 2017 | by Ed Kilgore

The Virginia gubernatorial race concludes in just under four weeks. Democratic candidate and Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam has a lead of 6.8 percent over Republican Ed Gillespie in the RealClearPolitics polling averages. The last time Gillespie led in a public poll was in March.

So what’s up with all the “panic” and “worry” and premonitions of “disaster” for Democrats in Virginia, given all the positive objective indicators of the state of the race?

Democrats may be suffering from their own version of PTSD — Post-Trump Stress Disorder — in which pessimism operates as a natural defense mechanism to prevent the kind of shocked disappointment they experienced on the night of November 8, 2016.

Hopes of a quick recovery from the Trump madness were temporarily raised by Jon Ossoff’s special-election campaign in Georgia, which at one point looked like a certain win, but then that, too, turned out to be another bitter buzzkill.

So perhaps all the bad vibes Democrats are feeling about Virginia have less to do with the race itself than with the daily reality of waking up each morning and realizing that Donald Trump is president of the United States and apparently none of us will deserve good things for the foreseeable future.

Democrats who think that “enthusiasm” and self-confidence are tangible assets in politics should fervently hope that Gillespie doesn’t pull an upset on November 7. It might be enough to raise Post-Trump Stress Disorder to epidemic levels.

Genius DNC head---Tom Perez--recently declared abortion-on-demand is "Democrats' ticket to victory." Alas, Democrats lost badly even after Perez's suckup to baby-killing.

Baby slaughter didnt work, so maybe VA Democratic candidate Lt Gov Ralph Northam is looking at infanticide....perhaps mercy killing of the disabled...... for winning issues? Maybe Northam is preparing a statement favoring beheadings? That strategy also sucks-up to the Muslim vote.

Inceidentally......turns out GA Democrat Ossoff got fewer votes than a Georgia candidate that apparently did not actually exist.......

>> Was VIRGINIA one of the states that cleaned up its voter list? <<

Yes... they removed all of the military. (And then added criminals.)

>>Ed Gillespie is that he’s a Bush Rino, and semi-anti-Trump, at best.

So it would be like getting another McTraitor, Flake, Miss Linda, Rubio, Collins, Murkowsky, etc, only as a Governor.

It might be better to let him lose and next time Bannon will field a proper Patriot.

After 2016, why does anybody bother with polls?

Elections are decided by voters who vote. Polls are meaningless.

If polls meant anything, Hillary Clinton would have won in a landslide.

They know that the polls and media are rigged in their favor and that in reality they are way behind and loosing ground.

It’s going to be the next chapter of “What Happened?” and the Russians did it.

“I believe the commentator was Bob Beckel; he appeared to be talking from personal experience. Unbelievable that the garbage out of Chicago has taken over voting in Fairfax County, which used to be a real swing county.”

Thank you! It has driven me crazy all these years trying to figure out who it was. I see a YouTube clip of it from 2014, but I remember him saying virtually the same thing way back in the early 2000s as well (maybe when George Allen lost his Senate bid in 2006).

Republicans concern should be Puerto Rico turning Florida blue

Fear and panic has set in to liberal and dimwit Democrats.

Maybe NBC will lose its license.

Maybe Harvey Weinstein has fled the country (Breitbart headline but nothing else)

Puerto Rico does have a Republican governor even if San Juan’s mayor is a super lefty. Still, the ones to leave would probably be Dems.

It’s your right to stay home but you may as well vote for the Democrat if you do. I have held my nose many times (McCain!) and voted for Republicans. We will need every vote we can get in VA b/c of all the DC employees and the fraud.

Governor races in off-year elections usually have low turnout and are very difficult to accurately poll since people lie about whether they will vote or not.

The Republican will lead with 85% of the vote tallied but then it is all downhill after that.

I realize that his isn’t going to be great, but if he wins, it will be just another GUT PUNCH to the Democrats!

And THAT, is something with which I can live!

Pretty much, yes! However, a GOP win in Virginia would be a winding GUT PUNCH to the Democrats!

So....
