In a historic change, the Boy Scouts are announcing plans to admit girls into the Cub Scouts starting next year and to establish a new program for older girls using the same curriculum as the Boy Scouts.
Under the plan announced Wednesday, Cub Scout dens — the smallest unit — will be single-gender, either all-boys or all-girls. The larger Cub Scout packs will have the option to welcome both genders if they choose.

I think it's regional. The scouting program my boys are currently involved in here in NE Florida is led by men who are almost all current or retired military. It's very traditional-based scouting.
Personally, given what GSA has turned in to, I don't really have a problem with allowing girls to be a part of this.

Reflecting back on my scouting experience....pretty much everything.
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies, etc. have all been DESTROYED by the left.

No, I’m tired of the gross ignorance on Free Republic concerning BSA. The fact the rules were changed has no bearing on queers as leaders or Scouts. There are thousand of good leaders who have taken the Youth Protection training and are very much aware of the spectre of queer leaders.
Church choirs have more molesters than BSA.
Liberals are trying to turn the scouts into the Hitler Youth. Another organization where libs can get their mitts on large numbers of kids at one time to indoctrinate them.

I’ve seen a state’s girl scout permission form that actually makes it a point to state that a belief in God is not required to join. Also there is a site with suggestions for an ecumenical service during girl scout week offering sample prayers Muslim, Hindu, Indian, Christian, Catholic etc. and a statement that reads “it is a time to Honor God”. Well, in my case I serve a mighty God. . .There is but one God . . God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
To hold such a service in a church (of Christian Faith) would be blasphemous. Most parents have no clue what is going on behind the scenes.
