Security guard shot before concert shooting began
On Monday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced a change to the sequence of events that occurred on Oct. 1, saying a security guard who encountered Paddock was actually shot at 9:59 p.m. local time, minutes before the 64-year-old unleashed a hail of gunfire on unsuspecting concertgoers.
Previously, authorities had said that the security guard, Jesus Campos, was shot after Paddock had opened fire on the crowd below.
Lombardo said Campos immediately reported to hotel security that he had been shot. However, responding officers did not know Campos had been shot until they arrived on the 32nd floor and encountered him, Lombardo said.
It's unclear what ultimately led Paddock to stop shooting at the people below. Officials had originally thought that Campos distracted him.

Perhaps - but I thought it was odd that the only reference to “phasade” on the whole internet was connected to a Inn in Moscow, Russia... fat thumbs and spell check can’t explain that misspelling...especially from a guy who claims to be a “structural engineer”
Keep going to the roof; slip on your black wingsuit and dive off into the night; gliding a few blocks away to be picked up.
Your wrong.
That woman was pulling a “CNN Jim Acosta” and wouldn’t shut up,interepted and was flat out rude.
Maybe in the 1970s - pretty sure you’ll find safety glass on all windows these days. My 1994 Buick Wagon had it all around (broke a side window once) as did my old 80’s Dodge Colt (broke the hatch glass).
Somewhere it was mentioned the glass landed on a roof above ground level - and not on the ground. Still unclear how the windows appeared during the attack - we only saw them after the breach - which presumably involved some concussive blasts that might have blown out pre-shattered saftey glass.
How do you fire 200 rounds through a door and only hit the man standing in front of the door once, in the leg?
But I guess we will have to believe you, an anonymous poster on the internet, since you have been there.
Not me!
Happen to know that papers print NOTHING but the pure, unvarnished TRUTH!
Who says it’s a mistake?
Some amazing shooting right there.
All I know is what I’ve seen...

True.
I posted on some other LV thread the link to GOOGLE MAPS that showed the portico roof extending quite a distance away from the building.
Glass would have to flutter like a falling leaf to make it over to the sidewalk/drive area.
Better yet, I’m a pilot.. well not with a valid license.. because I am such a law abiding citizen, I’ll just go with guns instead of using a plane to demolish the strip.
The way I read it, he called his management from the 32nd floor and told them he had been shot.
The SWAT team did not know until they arrived on the 32nd floor.
Whereas Airbus 380s keep shredding engines: “It better be Boeing or I won’t be going!”
At the Sec Gd were the 1st shots fired ?
So SWAT was in route ?To what.
The window shooting had not started by this account until after the guard was shot ?
>> “...How did the shooter get into the Aussies room next door?”
I didn’t know he wnet into that fellow’s room.
Quote:
“...One thing Ive never understood is how Paddock could monitor the cameras he set up to see people coming and at the same time be shooting out the windows.”
That is something that puzzles me as well.
