Bharara, Yates tamp down expectations Mueller will bring criminal charges

Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Wednesday that it will be difficult for special counsel Robert Mueller to prove criminal conduct in his probe into possible coordination between the President Trump's campaign and Russia.

“I know a lot of people are sort of putting all their hopes into Bob Mueller. And I’ve got tremendous confidence in Bob Mueller,” Yates said in a joint interview with Bharara at Vanity Fair's New Establishment Summit in New York, according to The Wall Street Journal.

“But the fact of the matter is, he’s going to determine whether there’s proof beyond a reasonable doubt that felonies were committed, that crimes were committed that can be used for prosecution or impeachment," she added.

Bharara emphasized that Mueller's investigation is intended to "find out the truth and apply the law and facts fairly" and said that he could ultimately decide against bringing a case.

Of course, there’s no way Trump could have beaten Hillary without an act of God or criminal conspiracy...

Even IF Trump and every member of his campaign colluded and planned the entire enterprise with the Russian government...there would be NO CRIME!

They would have to obtain proof somebody colluded with Russia to HACK the DNC or some other entity...or committed some other crime like illegal contributions etc.

Otherwise this is just a masturbatory exercise to relieve pressure on the psyche of the left.

Preet Bharara is a vitamin supplement, not a name.

I’ve been saying for months there is an ongoing investigation of several libs-—doubt it’s Cankles, but likely Rice, Lynch, Comey, etc. It’s been very well sealed, as it should be.
You should never, ever hear of this until the trap is sprung.
I believe this article is the first indication of this. Libs suddenly realizing there will be no prosecution of any Trump ppl. Trump dismissed all his criminal lawyers some time ago.
I have yet to see MANAFORT confirm his house was “raided.” That’s very strange. You’d think he’d be the first to scream, yet not a peep-—that I can find. Why? Perhaps because there was no raid, but rather a news release about a raid to keep up pretenses that Mulehead is “really into” a Trump investigation.

______________________________

Trump has not dismissed his criminal lawyers and Manafort has confirmed with his friends that a raid did take place

All of this has given the hold-over, embedded swamp creatures in the NSA, CIA and FBI time to cover up tracks to the grossly illegal behaviors of the former Obama Administration regime and of the Clinton Crime Syndicate. Sigh....

Can’t they find a dog from the Trump family to indict for peeing on a fire hydrant?

Best comment I've read in a long time. LOL!

Good analysis, LS. Let's hope this is indeed the direction.

But the DOJ raided Comey’s office the day he was fired. Who knows how much evidence was there.

Comey and Mueller are buddies. I’m betting that Comey will turn state’s evidence to nail others. Comey should hire a few body guards and not travel through Arkansas.

The upcoming impeachment is not going to be the doing of the Democrats.

Trump didn’t steal THEIR party.

The dems had planned on Trump being a hothead and firing Mueller. That was the trap. They would then go for real impeachment.

Good thing Trump didn’t fall for it. Good thing he recognized it for what it was and didn’t follow the cry of a lot of FReepers who were screaming “fire him!” That was what the dems were wanting....and Trump knew it.

Whatever.

The fact is, the Donkees don't have the votes. They lack a majority of the House and two thirds of the Senate.

The more the frustrated Democrats (and their military wing, Antifa) act out, the better! It just pisses off the average voter.

Whatever. Whatever. You would only need 20-something House GOP to switch and 17 Senate. Doing that might just make it happen. It certainly wouldn’t take to much to make 20-something house members to vote to impeach. The dems have those GOPe votes already...the GOPe just don’t have the stones yet. Bottom line-Trump knows what he’s doing here and you don’t.

She’s kind of crooked, herself. She did some things while the USA in Atlanta, that would raise more than a few eyebrows, if ever looked into. Mostly with politically connected people or those with friends in high places, even though the cases were out in the public eye. Stuff, Joe Schmo wouldn’t walk away from. All favors done on behalf of democrat friends and associates.

I’m sure if any of that were looked into and brought out into the public sphere, we’d probably here very little, if anything, from her.
