National Review ^ | October 2, 2017 | Charles C. W. Cooke

It’s still unclear exactly what the shooter in Las Vegas used to carry out his disgusting attack last night. By all accounts, he had so many weapons that it’ll be a while before we know which ones he chose. Nevertheless, two new pieces of evidence have come to light in the last few hours, and both give us a little insight into who he was and what he was hoping to achieve. The first piece of news is that the killer “passed all required federal background checks” on at least two recent occasions:

I guess if he had filled his private jet or whatever the heck he still owned with explosives and crashed it into the crowd he could have killed thousands easily..heck even if he didnt have the entire private jet filled with explosives just crashing it into the crowd would have killed thousands..so not sure what his end game was..reading on twitter supposedly the girlfriend told the feds that Paddock had some “New friends” recently..what kind of new amigos did he make and what was their involvement in this

We’re told he was worth between $2 and $3.5 million.

He’s dropping between $10,000 and $30,0000 per day.

200 such transactions that an IRS notice in 3 years.

That’s 0.5% to 1.5% of his net worth per day at the casino, at least 200times, in three years.

So let’s low brow.

Lose 0.5% of your net worth 200 times.

That’s everything...

I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to break the windows at the MB hotel, too.

"Ahh, so you favor "one gun a month" legislation?"

Only if Trucks are banned first.

Is there a Gun of the Month Club?

As a former pilot, having owned two planes...those aviation fuel tanks were mocking him.

Starting to sound like a leftist...?!?!

Thanks.

I thought there would be a limit or a heads-up when someone purchases many guns considering that there are some items we can purchase in only small quantities.

I’m just surprised that he had so many guns with him. OK, one should always be prepared and have a back-up, but are all those guns his or were they planted?

It looks like he threw a gun party and no one showed up.

The amount of guns, really kills the idea he was some supper planner sleuth for me.

Why risk moving 19 guns into the hotel/room, when you’re only going to use 2 to 4 of them?

I don’t have anything against people owning 40 guns either.

If you’re a law abiding citizen, I don’t care if you have 250.

You must be able to reasonably keep them in your possession though.

Some states have limits, but there's no record of what you purchase. (maybe CA or MA or NJ though) Federally the only 'restriction' is multiple-purchase is reported when two or more handguns are purchased at the same place less than five days apart, OR multiple rifles less than five days apart, in the border states. I don't think it applies to a multiple purchase of a rifle and a pistol, or shotguns at all.
