San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, who had previously said her criticisms of the federal government's handling of Hurricane Maria relief were about saving lives and "not about politics," took a shot at President Donald Trump by wearing a shirt that read "NASTY" on it during a Univision interview.
When asked by host Jorge Ramos what the significance of her "nasty" shirt was, the mayor said it was a reference to Trump referring to her as a "nasty mayor." The interview was posted Wednesday to Univision's AlPunto Twitter account.
She went on to claim that Trump was the one who is "nasty."
"When someone is bothered by someone claiming lack water for drinking, lack of medicine for the sick, and lack of food for the hungry, that person has problems too deep to be explained in an interview," Cruz said in Spanish. "What is really nasty is that anyone would turn their back on the Puerto Rican people."
Trump criticized the mayor and her "poor leadership ability" last weekend, tweeting, "The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump."

Or stand in front of hundreds of pallets of supplies.
I'm reasonably certain she didn't go to US to do the interview or that AC didn't go to PR, yeah sits in his studio while people are hurting and starve /sarc.
And what did she do to help her people except flap her gums?
Was that a blue screen/green scree deal?
Today I heard she changed her tune, did a photo op with Trump in high heels. No Trump wasn't in high heels. It was the mayor of SJ PR. I could fix the structure of that sentence but like the way it came out.
Seattle has an opening at the office of the mayor.
Perhaps, she can relocate.
When a man says a woman is “nasty”, it’s usually not a compliment.
“What is it with Leftists that absolutely everything simply must have a harsh political component to it?”
Rereading Thomas Sowell’s “Vision of the Anointed” right now. Among other points Sowell makes is that Leftists consider their politics the seat of their morality. If you don’t have a personal code of morality and try to live up to it, you seek substitutes. Politics plays into this because it doesn’t cramp your personal immorality while giving you the shield of a “good” person. Therefore, these people cloak themselves in politics to avoid honest self-examination and a cramped lifestyle.
Now you know why Puerto Rico is Bankrupt.
Precisely.....
They were all out of “Stupid” shirts?
“Now you know why Puerto Rico is Bankrupt.”
Was there ever any doubt as to the cause?
Now, let’s talk about those folks who bought those PR bonds based on nothing more than the PR govt promise to pay!
When measuring the degrees of stupid, that surely takes the cake.
That’s exactly it! Thanks for synthesizing Sowell’s insight.
That well of stupidity does run pretty deep...
Well, that was a nasty crack
Speaking of nasty cracks how is the mayor of San Juan Puerto Rico doing these days?
Actually when I saw her dressed that way on twitter I just assumed some troll had played around and photoshopped her.
It's also best not to stage your news conference in front of a lot of pallets loaded with relief supplies.
“Owning” “nasty woman” didn’t work out for Hillary like she thought it would.
Social re-engineering came so easily to some. I need not expand on who they are because they are in the headlines everyday and in our face. They walk among us and hate our guts and only wish considerable pain and suffering. They are the ones causing the most trouble in society. These are the useful idiots of those who want our society destroyed. The irony is that the useful idiots are the first to go when the overlords have no more use for them.
LOL...she’ll be on the losing end of this one.
Where was her pussycat hat?
Clearly she provide to the TV audience that she is a nasty person.
I think a credible leader would be finding better uses of time dealing with a devastating natural disaster than having a custom t-shirt ordered.
Ms. Mayor is not a leader, she’s a politician. Hope the people of San Juan understand and remember this. Hope they understand how she, and the DNC, are using them in failed attempt at Katrina ‘17.
Stupid ungrateful b*tch.
