Investigators are taking a harder look at Marilou Danley and what she might have known about the attack at a country music festival Sunday, with Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo naming her a “person of interest” and saying the FBI is bringing her back to the U.S. for questioning.

Danley, 62, was out the country at the time of the shooting and in the Philippines on Tuesday. “We anticipate some information from her shortly,” Lombardo said.

You bet there’s a lot she knows. What I haven’t heard anything about is where are his planes parked and did he file flight plans. I have heard a lot about this and that, but not about the planes. Did he fly back and forth from Mexico. Drugs? There’s a $hit load of info that’ll blow minds if it doesn’t get covered up.

I think all that she can lay out is that the guy was spending tens of thousands a month on a gambling habit, and his millions that existed three years ago upon retirement in Florida? Mostly all gone.

She might be able to explain part of his fortune and how he got into property speculation in Florida...maybe even some money-laundering business on the side.

I think in the end...he was a pill-popper guy, with a loser lifestyle that he couldn’t handle, and he’d spent his whole life savings on a gambling habit. This was his ‘going out in a flame’ act. People won’t be able to grasp that and keep thinking he’s into Islam, or there’s some darker secret.

That's probably about as good an analysis as any so far. His life had probably been on a negative trajectory for some time. With no family to speak of, and a gold-digger girlfriend as his only source of companionship, he eventually made a seriously bad turn, gambling more and more, drinking more and more, popping pills more and more.

Filipino girlfriend sees where he's going and runs to the exit. His brain is now "squirming like a toad" to borrow a line from Jim Morrison. Decides to go out in a horrific blaze of glory, and proceeds with a carefully laid-out plan he'd been ruminating on for a while.

I wonder if the note he left was a suicide letter to his girlfriend.

Thanks for the link. So many possibilities. My gut says a leftist hater but waiting for the facts. He also looks sleep deprived and the pilot history makes me wonder if he was a Mena type drug or arms dealer. Seemed to throw a lot of cash around.

Wealth alone does not guarantee that you’ll have true friends. Some lonely people become very needy once they find somebody. Paradoxically many such individuals have contempt for the people who do decide to treat them with some degree of kindness. The contempt comes from paranoia, pessimism and a fragile ego.
