Tom Petty died Monday morning after life support was terminated, reports TMZ. The singer was found unconscious Sunday night after a massive cardiac arrest. Paramedics were able to restore a pulse, says TMZ, but his family accepted the inevitability of the singers death, and support was terminated this morning.
The Rock and Roller was known for his rhythmic Florida style. He was famous as early at 19. He transplanted himself to Southern California, where he was known for songs that celebrated Southern California living, such as "Free Falling."

I caught him live in 1986 when he and his band did a tour with Bob Dylan. That was a great concert. I will miss him but at least we have his music.
p.s. How does Keith Richards outlast so many other rockers???? really now.....
Wow, that’s sad. Wasn’t a huge fan, but he had some good hits. One of my carpool riders went to his live show a couple of months ago. She’ll be crushed.

If you take too many drugs and smoke too much it has the reverse affect. Figuring out where it goes from harmful to good is the trick.

Mixed news reports, some say he’s dead some say he’s still hospitalized.
Even in the middle of the tragedy of the Vegas atrocity, this hits hard. Prince, David Bowie, now Tom Petty - all guys whose music was a huge part of my life growing up. RIP.

Tom Petty’s guitar teacher in Gainesville was a guy named Don Felder...who later went on to join some group about birds.

One of my first concerts as a young teen. I think I was 13 years old. Mom and Dad would never have let me go, so a friend and I snuck out, claiming we had a boy scout campout, or something plausible.
RIP Tom Petty.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers heart has broken.
I hope he had received Jesus. His friend Bob Dylan is a born-again Christian so maybe Dylan talked to Petty about it.
That’s always the first thing I think of when someone is close to or already dead - have they or did they receive Jesus so they’ll be in Heaven.
He’s now a drone
