ESPN will pass on showing live player protests during Week 4 of the NFL season. The Disney-owned network told Sporting News it won't air the playing of the national anthem before Redskins vs. Chiefs on "Monday Night Football."
The NFL's TV partners normally do not show players before the unfurling of the American flag and singing/playing of the national anthem, except before the Super Bowl and other select games. But given viewer interest around players staging demonstrations last week, ESPN, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, CBS Sports, NFL Network and DirecTV all provided live anthem coverage during Week 3.
SNIP
NBC Sports says it will televise the live the playing of the U.S. national anthem before the Colts at Seahawks on "Sunday Night Football" (8:30 p.m. ET).
ESPN told Sporting News it won't televise the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before its "Monday Night Football" matchup of Redskins vs. Chiefs.
On Sunday, CBS Sports televised the anthem live before its game telecasts.
Meanwhile, Fox Sports showed the anthem from the 9:30 a.m. ET matchup of Saints-Dolphins in London -- but declined to show it for later U.S.-based games such as Buccaneers-Giants.

and the networks think not showing the Anthem will make the anger the fans feel go away?
FAT chance of that.
Gee, I guess that means nobody will be able to find out if the players protested or not.
These clowns don’t realize everyone in the stands has a cell phone and a you tube account.
The NFL GANGS
Power salutes- kneeling activity on the fields are similar to gangs & gang activity with GANG SIGNS.
The Godfather of these gangs is Roger Goodell, who SKIMS off 32 million dollars each year while the oppressed gang members receive an average of 1.9 million dollars for their gang activity.
Don't watch the game.
Wow. They’re really just not getting it.
Turn off ESPN
ESPN taking a knee.
If we’re not watching, then we won’t see it anyway.
THey didnt used to show it, You can thank Kapernicus that they showed it for a while.
Let the boycotts continue....
Next step is the NFL using the DMCA to get Youtube (and other sites) to delete every video of any part of the game especially the anthem and the players' actions during it. Destroy the evidence and the protests never really happened.
That is what FR and twitter is for ;)
Regardless,
I think damage has been done. Players could march on field with flags in hand, etc. I don’t think it wins many of the fans back...
Fox too.
Sounds like some kind of antitrust collusion to me.
Sic ‘em Trump!
At the Pitt-Rice game yesterday, the Pitt players stood for the anthem.
The Rice players stayed in the locker.
Pitt won 42-10.
Hail to Pitt!
Do they honestly believe that is the solution to their problems? They are just plain stupid and nothing can fix stupid.
At least Aaron Hernandez did not kneel.
I refuse to watch espn. I will listen to my Yankees play the Twins in the 1 game wild card on the radio on Tuesday.
