In the wake of the death of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, the networks on Thursday hailed the life of the progressive pornographer, touting the beautiful ending of an "American icon." Many of the networks showed snippets of his 1966 discussion with conservative legend William F. Buckley. However, these networks only showed Hefners response. Not Buckleys questions.
Thats probably because Buckley subjected Hefner to questions he would never get in the traditional liberal media. The National Review founder demanded, for example, that the Playboy editor answer this query:
Mr. Hefner, if you do, in fact, reject what is commonly known as the Christian code or the religious code, why do you take the position that the Playboy philosophy is non-controversial, that it is sort of congruent with the new reality? If, in fact, you have rewritten the ancient theological tablets, oughtnt you to claim some kind of moral authority to do so? And if so, what is that moral authority? Is it your own intuition?
Hefner squirmed during this introduction:

WFB was a great man - one of my heroes.
Years ago, I think on the Merv Giffin Show Hugh Heffiner was asked, “So, when’s your daughter going to put on a bunny-suit and come down and join the party?”
Heffner visibly squirmed as he told Merv Griffen that he didn’t want his daughter to become a Playboy Bunny.
I looked for a clip of this but couldn’t find one.
Money and power are YUGE aphrodisiacs for some folks.
Someone needs to post an article from today’s UK Daily Mail by a former valet at the Playboy Mansion. As Hefner got older, he got worse; Hefner himself was rude, nasty and uncaring, the “mansion” was a real pigsty, they would videotape sexual encounters so they would have blackmail in case someone told the truth about what went on there, and it was laden with all sorts of illicit drugs. The video of Hefner shuffling off in a walker at the “mansion” earlier this year is emblematic of this man’s life - he brought a lot of misery and what did he end up with? Hefner was like his “mansion” - old, decrepit, filthy and with a public reputation that belied reality.
Hefner was a pimp at his core. There was nothing unique about him. Take away the modern fluff of pajamas, silicon, makeup, dyes, gloss and broadcasting, Hefner was just another epicurean hedonist who made his fortune and personal pleasure exploiting women. Such men have existed through recorded history and will continue to exist. Nor is it surprising how his “playmates” are honestly mourning him. The only man a prostitute really loves is her pimp.
The guy was a pig...and lived off women.
Anothr time Hef squirmed......a fem/libber said he should try walking around w/ a bunny tail on his ***.
As I recall his daughters appearance made that a moot point.
Hefner, the perv who taught Bill Cosby how to drug girls with quaaludes.
I remember a few years ago, there was some awful bug there, so bad that the City of LA shut the “mansion” down until it could be eradicated. I remember reading Madison’s account (a former Playmate) of the place, which was steeped in animal urine and dog poop. I agree; the best solution is to tear it down and rebuild on another part of the property.
I read a magazine article on Hefner a few years back. He would have been well into his 80s at that point. It portrayed him as a rather sad old man who spent most of his waking hours sitting around the mansion in pajamas, assembling scrapbooks and then watching old movies at night with a small group of friends and flunkies.
Full up hazmat suits with SCBA.
Hefner, that old perverted freak, will be easy to forget.
It should be turned into a prison for sexual predators and rapists. Also a good place to execute sex/murder convicts. Hefner should be buried there good and deep. The executed sex torture murderers should be thrown in the hole with him. Then we need to eradicate perversion from our lands altogether.
I heard years ago the mansion was a dump. Wonder if the future new owner will turn it into a shrine or bulldoze it.
