These folks need electricity.
Note what the fork lifts were delivering ...
Not wind generators, ... not solar arrays, ...
BUT Gasoline Powered Generators!!!
I laugh myself to sleep with that image.
#FakeNews MSM: “Puerto Rico suffers worst disaster in history!!! Why isn’t it fixed yet!?!”
Its a lack of drivers for the transport trucks, the 18 wheelers. Supplies we have. Trucks we have. There are ships full of supplies, backed up in the ports, waiting to have a vehicle to unload into. However, only 20% of the truck drivers show up to work. These are private citizens in Puerto Rico, paid by companies that are contracted by the government, says Col. Valle.
They should have learned to drive a stick.
There’s the one infernal truth that the media likes to omit: there’s tons of supplies sitting there. But with roads blocked or destroyed, very limited gas or power to pump it, much less transport vehicles that are running and can navigate from Point A to Point B, all these inbound ships can do is offload at the ports and leave. It’ll require an airlift operation and occupying force of military and contractors to get some manner of distribution and infrastructure repair coordinated, and that’s no small potatoes, regardless of the scale. And, there’s the matter of so much of it having to be done via cargo and container ships. I’m sure Puerto Ricans are more than ready, willing, and able to roll up their sleeves and tackle it head-on, but just getting basic communications up and routes of transport open is going to take time to establish. What a Godawful mess there.
This is WHY I have a generous supply of emergency food, tools, camping gear, and clothes. PR is in the hurricane belt and people are sitting there like baby birds with their beaks out. Pathetic!
We’re taking a truckload down to FL on Tuesday to be taken to PR. There’s just so much to do.
Lack of communication is a major problem for logistics. Some I’ve talked to are just simply lost there.
CNN and MSNBC want you to believe that nothing is being done in pr. Isn’t it sad that the amazing work of our first responders is being denigrated because they think that narrative will hurt Trump. It’s like communist Cuba/North Korea media.
Check out the video Trump just distributed:

Let me guess. Puerto Rico is a one-party (democrat) government.
I. Problem
20% of island truck drivers bothered to show up to deliver.
II. Problem
Island truck drivers are instead of working using time to negotiate their union contract.
III.
Guaynbono Mayor said the San Juan Mayor has been a NO SHOW at the FEMA coordination meetings.
IV.
Mayor Whines A-Lot is dumber than a box of rocks, using her time instead for whining for the camera instead of working with FEMA and getting drivers to show up for work.
Trump should always take care to tweet the facts supporting his allegations. Concise. Provable.
Thank you so much for posting this article. It should be required reading for all staff at CNN and the mayor of San Juan and other assorted liberals and people who have no idea what the word LOGISTICS means and how it applies in a true crisis.
The media ...is throwing fuel on this fire and not helping the people of PR. Shame on them.
This is triage time. Critical review time will come later.
I’m a truck driver, I can drive any truck, been doing it for 37 years and it’s getting slow now so I have free time so how do I get down there? I’m not paying out of my own pocket plane rides. I can be down there this week if they get me a plane ride and haul whatever they want. I also use to drive a taxi in New york city which is the hardest kind of driving anybody can do. I was also homeless and unemployed for 2 years (never took food stamps or welfare) so I’ve experienced extreme hardship. Here I am, ready to go so how do I get down there? I’ll haul every last trailer they got to whereever they need it
They need trucks and drivers.
I wonder when the left will turn of huffpoo for this ? probably not...they’ll just ignore it.
this is what happens to a modern society when all energy sources and supply lines cease to function simultaneously. no way to bootstrap.
The problem is that they don’t have the workers. Not just the truckers. They don’t have relief workers, construction workers, heavy machinery. They can’t get the power on. They can’t get the gas stations powered up. And many are damaged. And if you fly them in, they have no where to stay. They need to hire several cruise ships just to stay in port as floating hotels.
This is a good article and the fact that it was published in the Huffington Post means a lot. Anti-Trump articles adorn the front page of the Wash Post weekend addition because the Post is so anti-Trump that it doesn’t care if it publishes lies and distortions.
A “hat’s off” to the author of this article.
Someone needs to tell the mayor of San Juan to shut the f... up and do her job.
CNN delivers a shirt to San Juan mayor to put Trump down when it is her own people sabotaging the relief effort. Sad, but the left wing media are trying to nail Trump. I’m surprised this is from Huffington.
