Sports teams ask a lot of their fans, especially in places like Green Bay. Where, depending on the time of year, a fan could get hypothermia while just sitting in his seat. However, one recent request the team has made of the Pack faithful has left fans feeling a little hot. The Packers players, led by their quarterback Aaron Rodgers, issued a call to their fans to join them in interlocking arms during the national anthem. However, some fans have not taken kindly to the request. According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers Director of Public Affairs, Aaron Popkey, says fan reaction has been intense.
Weve had a steady stream of feedback beginning Monday morning and it continued into Wednesday. Weve heard on both sides of the matter. We take note of their concerns.
The fact that Popkey alludes to the concerns of the fans, would certainly lead one to believe that the steady stream of fan feedback has definitely tacked more negative, than positive.
The issue of anthem protests, already a hot-button issue, became an even bigger story after President Trumps comments in Alabama last Friday night. Where, he referred to players who protested the anthem as SOBs, and said he wished their team owners would fire them.
Those comments, led to a backlash from the league last weekend. All told, more than 200 players from all 32 teams protested the presidents comments in some form, or fashion. The Packers stood with interlocking arms, in their game against the Bengals. With the exception of three players who remained on the bench.

Probably pretty good.
“I do not think that would even help. They poked mama bear in the eye...spat on their golden goose. This will not end well for NFL!”
Yep, so sad!
LOL...the opening sentence in their “statement” reads “The NFL family is one of the most diverse communities in the world.”
What a laugh! The NFL is diverse my a$$.
Thanks for the cross-link.

At the very least, you know the cameras will find the handful of useful idiots and plants linking arms and film them the whole time, ignoring all the boos and pissed off fans.
That, too...................

Oh man, I can’t believe the Packers are doing this. I’ve been a fan my entire life. The very first football game I ever saw were the Packers.
I have an emotional attachment to this team, and it breaks my heart to see them disrespecting the flag. They can call it anything they want, but the truth is kneeling is an insult to every man and woman who has fought for and defended our country.
I can’t sit back and ignore this. If they kneel tonight they loose this fan, and I don’t mean until I feel better about it, or everything settles down. I mean forever.
I expected so much more from them and I’m deeply disappointed that they would drag our flag into the mud.
Public law 105-225 signed into law August 12, 1998.
Title 36 US Code 301 states:
301. National anthem
(A) Designation. The composition consisting of the words and music known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.
(B) Conduct During Playing.During a rendition of the national anthem
(1) when the flag is displayed
(a) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem
and maintain that position until the last note;
(b) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may
render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and
(c) all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right
hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress
with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in
the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.
Pretty soon Las Vegas and the bookies will be taking bets on the under/over line of the number of players who take a knee during the National Anthem.
The very fact that teams need to resort to this grandstanding tells me that they are all terrified of the hounds they have unleashed. They are going down, and they know it.
Maybe they are too young to remember what Americans did back when they understood John Lennon to say the Beatles were greater than Jesus Christ.
“The problem is that the armlink, perhaps ok on its own, is being pushed as an alternate form of mass kneeling.”
Exactly. It’s a perversion of the Anthem to send another message.
Thanks. Still unavailable for me.
They look like the Rockettes...pink booties might help.
I seriously doubt that would be nearly enough, without Severe Penalties for the Players and the Teams and their Owners, the FANS will never forgive.
My idea is simple:
$1 Million Dollar Fine per Player and a 6 month suspension.
$20 Million Dollar fine per Owner who allowed this
$100 Million Dollar Fine per Team and a 6 Month Suspension
Try again Next Year!
I think that would be hard to do. Lambeau Field is sold out for years.
Amen.
What u posted says noting about linking arms.
Linking arms is a form of protest too.
