The Patriots took different approaches as the National Anthem played on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Many, including safety and captain Devin McCourty, took a knee. Others stood and linked arms.
A league source has told CSN's Gary Tanguay that every Patriots player will stand for the anthem prior to Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Patriots captain Devin McCourty explained that Saturday was an emotional day for him and his teammates as they tried to determine how best to react to Trump's comments, which referred to players kneeling during the anthem as "sons of bitches" who should lose their jobs.

Matt Light: Better ways to protest than kneeling during national anthem McCourty explains what went into decision for Patriots to kneel during anthem Troy Brown and Dan Koppen react to Matt Light comments on protest "We were obviously very conflicted," he said. "We knew our message would be perceived by a lot of people in a way that wasnt what we were trying to put out. A lot of guys felt, I mean, all over the place about the comments by the President Friday night. As a leader on the team, a lot of guys came to me and they didnt know what to do. They just were kind of angry.
"It was good Saturday. We all kind of talked as a group of releasing that anger and not being angry. We were in chapel and a lot of guys talked about that in our faith, God is first. We wanted to come together."
I won’t be watching the so-called “Patriots” play, either.
A former fan, who turned off the game last Sunday after seeing a dozen illiterate low IQ black players take a knee.
At least the fans booed these idiots at the end of the National Anthem.
And Brady linking arms with a black player. At least Tommy had his hand on his heart, but then on Monday morning he called the president’s remarks “divisive.” Most have taken a tongue-lashing Sunday night from his liberal Brazilian wife. Pu$$y-whipped!
And owner Robert Kraft’s stupid comments.
I don’t care what they do or don’t do. I’m done with them all.
Billy Clinton was light years more crass than President Trump.
Inserting a cigar into an intern’s vagina in the Oval Office and having the same intern perform oral sex on president BJ Clinton while he was on the telephone talking to a world leader about the Balkans crisis tops by far anything President Trump said while he was a private citizen.
Of course the press didn’t care....Clinton had a “D” after his name so all was A-OK with them.
Damage control. The players that hated the country last week, still hate it this week. They’ve already shown their true coloreds.
It's a good description of them ...
Colon Krapperdick injected race into this last year when he and his muzztard girlfiend started it. It has been anti-white and anti-America from the beginning.
*** Cracks are developing, as you stated, in the ownership ranks. Probably too late though ... the customer base is pissed ...
Kind of like the end of the movie Network where the big shot doesn’t realize he has an open mic.
So what's the problem here?
“it’s about change”
No, it’s about football. People tune in to watch football not to be lectured about ‘change’.

It is about change. I'm changing the channel.
Good one lol. So true.
” a lot of guys came to me and they didnt know what to do.”
What do I do? My blatant racism has been exposed! I don’t want EVERYONE to know that I HATE the country that has given me millions. I don’t want everyone to know that instead of being a tough football guy, that I’m really just a snowflake.
Trying to stuff the toothpaste back in the tube I see.
They can use their own quarter to call someone who cares.
This player pi**ed like a dog...a new form of "praying' Roger said they should be respected for.......
This NFL Player did leg stretches...his form of Rogers "praying" he called us to respect......
Yeh they want their paycheck to keep coming in they better stand up.
Our wealthy class is just insufferably ignorant and mean. They can afford to be. We should tax them back into reality and give the middle and working classes a tax break for a change.
How did they do against the Chuffers?
The New Orleans Stains are off to a bad start. The Buffalo Bilge, too.
the was to me the most disappointing..i thought Brady and Kraft were smarter than that....it’ll never be the same for me, they ruined it. I could care less. IM done.
