IT'S OVER: Republicans will not vote on Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill
Business Insider ^ | September 26, 2017 | Bob Bryan

Republicans decided Tuesday against bringing the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill to the floor for a vote, a GOP aide told Business Insider, effectively killing the GOP's Obamacare repeal push for the foreseeable future.

Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy said during a press conference with GOP Senate leaders that there were not enough votes to pass the measure.

"Well to be clear, due to events under our control and not under out control, we do not have the votes," Cassidy said.

The supporters of ACA and now some who support the Senators that Obamacare is more popular than repeal? Do you think that is so?

All Trump needs to do is get rid of the criminal exemption for congress.
There is no possible way they can be misconstrued as a small business and get that exemption. None.

"They will never get rid of obamacare."

Only because they don't want to get rid of it.

Not to mention the unknown unknowns.

Trump should now place the Swamp on 0-care to suffer with the rest of us.

It irks me that the penalty exists when you file taxes. It does not affect me but this should be repealed.

was crap anyway. Just send Trump the same darn thing you sent Obama!! HOW FREAKING HARD IS THAT!?!?!?

I couldn't agree more. Repeal the whole darn thing. It would have been MUCH cheaper and more efficient to insure to so-called 20 million uninsured than to burden the whole nation with this fiasco.

Kind of interesting how everyone is talking about the NFL, and not the failure of healthcare repeal.

How about Congress just rebating and remitting the 2014, 2015 and 2016 PPACA penalties?

The Republicans need to show they are serious about fixing PPACA problems.

Excellent point. Of all those millions Senators somehow acquire I wonder how much is from Big Med?

Congress could raise the 30-hours a week work limitation to say 35 hours.

A change would help low wage workers immensely.

Obamacare remains the law of the land.
Congrats to Rue Paul, McCain and Collins for saving Obamacare.

“Once the entitlement jeanie is out of the bottle, becomes impossible to put them back.”

This Congress failed to do what was needed:
1. insist on financially balanced trade ASAP after an election so jobs become available by the millions long before the next election
2. rapidly phase-out welfare benefits as jobs become available
3. set a repeal date on basic income taxation on the middle class

As for Social Security, first limit transfers to within the family for about a decade or so, then allow family members to make their own arrangements.

It was very poorly presented to the American public and probably to most Senators.

“waivers are still in place forces me to wonder why”

Many retailers are struggling.

Sears and Macy’s have left the mall nearest me.

Wal-Mart has shrunk their garden centers in my area.

Many restaurant properties sit vacant in my area, probably one of the more affluent ones in Florida.

These Senators are in the DC area bubble of easy money.

They don’t see the vacant commercial space I see.

Manufacturers have abandoned my area except to make construction-related stuff.

High health care costs are killing off optional purchase business.

Well we do know that McCain campaigned in his State for Replace and Repeal and then when the votes came down, he voted against it...so there is that...

So Arizona, thanks for nothing...Kentucky is in the same boat with McConnell, he never intended to get this passed, or it would have been done long before the election of 2016...so there is that...

RINO RYAN never thought that President Trump would win, so therefore didn’t worry about it, then when he did start to worry, it still didn’t get anywhere...so there is that...

Let it go it’s course, it’s OBAMACARE and the DEMOCRATES VOTED FOR IT so let it hang around their necks...President Trump has tried to get something done and can’t...so there is that...

I wish Pres Trump would cancel all of the waivers for congress, and anybody else who gets special and favored treatment via cut rate prices for their obamacare package, immediately if not sooner. I understand there is more he can do via HHS and other agencies. Please, no more stalling. Get it done.

Just told Trump the same thing—end the subsidies and waivers for everybody in Congress and the unions.

They love Obamacare so much—give it to them in spades.

I encourage you to do the same.

New fiscal year starts Sunday, Oct. 1st.
