The NFL protected him from the alleged rape charges he had, so I don’t really care what the big jerk says.
I thought they didnt get political by hiding in the locker room? These dumb jocks need to get their stories straight.
Well, sure you regret it now, jerk.
2. Nobody. He just realized that pulling a stunt like that in Chicago is not a good idea if you play your home games in a city that put the "blue" in "blue collar."
I think higher ups are pulling the puppet strings. It’s making everybody look like buffoons.
Too bad, so sad, WAAAYYY TOO LATE! Apology not accepted. He is crying phony crocodile tears because spineless Ben realizes his money gravy train is over because he, along with the ENTIRE STEELERS TEAM INCLUDING THE OWNER, MANAGER, COACHES ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE STEELERS STAFF EXCEPT FOR JUST O N E solitary, honorable, patriotic, America loving team member has as they say in the military: PERMANENTLY "Screwed the pooch".
The Steelers fans are never coming back because they love America more than they do an NFL team that has demonstrated once and for all time that the Steelers actually HATE America, our flag, our nation, our values, the military, the police, and they DESPISE THEIR FANS.
STAND FAST; Don't be seduced or deceived by their phony remorse, apologies and pleas for "forgiveness". ALL THEY AND THE NFL CARES ABOUT IS FLEECING YOU OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
Spineless Ben is crying and losing sleep because he realizes too late that he, along with every one of the Steelers save just ONE MAN just "killed their fan base goose that laid the golden eggs" with their own hands! Now that the goose is permanently dead, Spineless Ben is trying in vain to resurrect it.
I think there’s more to this story.
If I had to guess, I’m sure that there were MANY athletes who wanted to stand in respect for the national anthem and flag, but were faced with the dilemma of obstinant players who were going to kneel no matter what.
At that point, leadership needed to be shown by the head coach, ownership, and Goodell. The NFL’s rule book needed to be followed. That is, if you kneel, you are in violation of league rules (Goodell) and you face the consequences (fines/suspension). PERIOD. Send out a memo to all teams stating that political stunts that violate league rules during official pregame and postgame activities are cause for sanctions. The team owner needed to direct his employees that they shall stand in respect as usual and according to the League rules. If you want to protest in front of a camera, do it on your own time and not “on the clock.”
Two Football Players Trying To Have It Both Ways:
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said Monday that he regrets participating in his team’s Sunday protest of the national anthem.
Steelers Alejandro Villanueva Embarrassed by Lone-Wolf Act - Every single time I see that picture of me standing by myself, I feel embarrassed, he said.
So what was it ... a protest, as Ben puts it, or simply staying out of the political mess, as Rooney puts it? Can’t have it both ways, guys.

To Steelers Nation:
I want to reach out to you, the members of Steelers Nation, based on what I believe is a misperception about our players intentions in not taking the field for the National Anthem in Chicago. The intentions of Steelers players were to stay out of the business of making political statements by not taking the field. Unfortunately, that was interpreted as a boycott of the anthem which was never our players intention.
Our players come from many different backgrounds and are united by what it means to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are active in their communities and participate regularly in events designed to give back to those communities. And they appreciate the support they get from Steelers fans around the country and here at home.
I also know that our players have tremendous respect for the members of our military services, including their teammate Alejandro Villanueva. There was never any desire on the part of our players to show disrespect for our service members.
Yesterday, I received an email from a Steelers fan who said tell the players to just play football. That is exactly what they wanted to do. They wanted their sole focus to be on playing the game, while also coming together as a unified team.
The main thing we can do is learn from this and strive to come together remaining unified as a football team. I believe we are capable of accomplishing this with the support of our fans.
Steelers Nation is made up of the best fans in the National Football League. We appreciate your continued support of our players, coaches and staff.
Sincerely,
Art Rooney, II
Too late, Big Ben. You missed the window of opportunity in which to act. Sort of says something about your character, doesn’t it.
JoMa
Agreed. But choice always exists.
Guess his restaurant is starting to suffer?
Sounds like some public relations lawyers BS trying to mollify the masses. Pure BS.
Art Rooney, II
Well moron, your comment is what is called TAP DANCING! You and your team of anti-patriots screwed up royally and little you say is way too late. So now you sit back and watch the value of your screw up team decrease daily.
He’s trying to have his cake and eat it too.
There is no middle ground on this one Ben. You chose the losing side against America. You should have considered that before you slapped the memory of every veteran who died in service to our nation.
Tell him to ESAD!!
Biggest Book Flop Of 2018
