New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. hinted Monday that his touchdown celebration where he pretended to urinate in the Philadelphia Eagles end zone was a response to President Trump calling players who kneel for the National Anthem “sons of b****es .”

Beckham responded to a tweet that questioned whether the move was in response to the president's remarks on Sunday, saying “If u seen that, I have to tip my hat to u for thinkin outside the box. #URRIGHTONPOINT impressed.”

Since I no longer watch any NFL football, I pose the question, was the idiot and his team penalized for his display of ignorance? Certainly such childish action would fall is the “taunting” category. Perhaps the question needs to be put before the “refs”, thus asking WHY no penalty, assuming there was no penalty called?

I watched that game, and Beckham was taunting the fans. Nothing to do with Trump. They filmed him on the sideline and he continued to taunt the fans for another 5 minutes, finally (even the commentator said it) the coach went over and talked to him.

The guy is full of crap. He changed his story at least twice on this, and probably settled on the "I did this to insult Trump" angle on the advice of his agent.

I hope the guy never stops what he's doing. It's perfectly appropriate sub-human behavior for the biggest star player on an 0-3 team whose owners were one of the first to publicly criticize President Trump's comments about players who refuse to stand for the national anthem.

F#%& all of them.

I believe he was penalized, and the penalty helped cost them the game because the Eagles got great field position after the kickoff.

Oh, and by the way after his second touchdown he gave the black power sign to the fans.

Knowing Eagle fans, I can just image their response to that.

The team received a fifteen yard penalty on the kickoff...one of several stupid penalties the team committed; including restraining a twelfth Eagle who was never going to make it off the field, which ended up costing them the game...

Didn’t help his 0-3 Giants did it?

Yep. My husband has been a Giants fan his whole life. Now about all we can hope for is that Eli can just retire and get out of there. Beckham might take a look at 0-3, and think better of making political points, IMO.

P*ss*ing on the fans, nothing that the NFL hasn't been doing to the fans on season.

By imitating a dog’s way of urinating, was he admitting to being a son of a bitch?

Couldn’t agree more and think he’s the Kanye West of the NFL. I am a HUGE Giants fan and Odell has been the favorite player for both myself and my sons but none of us can tolerate this nonsense and are embarrassed that he in our our team at this point.
Nobody can argue with his talent level as one of his touchdowns was a play that nobody else in the league could have made. His physical skills lead to the power that be keeping him at arms length and tempering their criticism but this display of animal behavior and subsequent doubling down on being a “dog” must be addressed.
I will not have another game on in my house for a very long time, if ever again.
Such a shame that Goodell has let the league deteriorate in such a fashion and that Giants ownership is throwing away their respectable reputation.

There was a penalty called (or so I've read) and it was a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct, IIRC.

Yes, got a 15 year penalty for unsportman like conduct. Since he was “pissing” on the fans, I kind of hoped the NFL would fine him, but now I suspect they will give him a medal.

He should have retired two years ago.

Beckham might take a look at 0-3 ...
Don't even think for a millisecond that this thug gives a damn about the team.

“...as one of his touchdowns was a play that nobody else in the league could have made.”

Have never been able to understand those kinds of statements. Football is a team sport, and he would not have been able to make a touchdown if someone had not previously thrown a block. Impossible without it. No touchdown is ever made in a vacuum.

How much was the fine imposed by the NFL for his childish display?

I mean, gosh, that’s breaking one of their hard and fast rulz, right?
