‘Sunday Night Football’ Ratings Down Again On Day Of Player Protests

On a day full of criticisms from Donald Trump, political protests, linked arms, players taking a knee or not coming on the field during the National Anthem and renewed pleas for unity from the league NBC and the NFL took a hit last night on Sunday Night Football.

In metered market numbers, the primetime match-up between the 27-10 winning Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders snared an 11.6/20.

The worst SNF has performed this season so far, that’s an 8% dip from the early numbers of last week’s Atlanta Falcon’s 34-23 win over the Green Bay Packers. Gaining cheers and boos from fans at FedEx Field in Maryland last night, the third week of SNF for the 2017-2018 season declined 10% from early numbers of the comparable game of last year on September 25, 2016.

Even if the most hard core fans only watched “thier team” it would be a huge hit on ratings. For example only watching the Sunday 1pm game while boycotting the Thursday night Sunday night Monday night and Sunday afternoon games.

Hopefully the final adjusted ratings will be much lower!

Also keep in mind that the TV cable and satellite carriers know that the only reason many people subscribe to their services is to get sporting events, especially football. If there is a boycott of the NFL, that could have dire effects on those media companies. Their stocks may be coming down today.

A lot of people were already boycotting, so there was less room for a drop.

This is of minor impact at best.

10% drop.

With the NFL now adopting a new business model of pissing on the graves of patriots on live TV, one has to wonder: Just how many Freepers watched yesterday, and what the hell were they thinking?

People need to boyott the Super Bowl. A lot of people who boycotted, still watched it this year.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been a season ticket holder, even bought Titans PSLs when they came to Tennessee. Over and over I made that long drive from Memphis to Nashville for games. I was a huge NFL fan for decades, basically since the early seventies. But I haven’t watched a game since the protests last year. Now I’ve found I don’t even care. I’m done with them.

I’ve been a Memphis Grizzlies fan since they came to town. I’ve been a season ticket holder for them, too. But I fully expect lots of NBA protests. And now their coach has started blabbering about the Confederate statues. To make matters worse, their foolish young owner seems to think rapper Jay-Z is some kind of important philosopher god. So I’m done with them, and that’s a shame, they were fun for a while. I’m keeping my money in my wallet.

For now I’m still a St. Louis Cardinals fan. I hope this junk doesn’t get out-of-control in baseball, but if it does, I’m done there, too.

“MLB players are kneeling, too! “

Only ONE.

And he’s on his way back to the minors this morning.

Baseball won’t put up with this shit.

I didn’t watch yesterday. Today I feel proud of myself for standing up to these prima donnas especially after seeing the picture of the Raiders all sitting on the bench during the national anthem. Screw them all and the horses they rode in on!

I even started thinking about college football. When I found out Florida was playing Michigan here in Dallas, I was excited, I shelved out the money (let’s just say it was a lot of money) and went to the game.

Besides the fact that Michigan killed us, afterwards, I really thought about and asked myself, was it really worth it to spend that kind of money for a game? Especially in light of the fact that so many Florida players are in trouble with the law. It’s just not the same, anymore.

But for now, I’ll keep watching College Football, but I am getting closer and closer to walking away for it as well. I think playoffs and the big money are ruining the spirit of it.

Exactly. That idiot forgot that baseball has this thing called the ‘minor leagues’.

I hope that putz enjoyed his short stay in “The Show.”

Many probably tuned in out of curiosity. How could you possibly cheer on a team full of jerks? I bet the ratings will sink further in the coming weeks.

The whole thing needs to be blown up and reassembled. Every player and coach needs to be banned one year for each instance of disrespect during the nathional anthem. Maybe a few patriotic billionaires (are there any?) cout get with Tim Tebow and form a new league!

And this wasn’t exactly Jacksonville vs Carolina.

These were two teams with big national followings.

Next Sunday won’t be any better. 1-2 Seattle Vs. 1-2 Colts. Some of the drop will be due in part to the protests but the most of it will be because these two teams suck right now.

Get off of the NFL drug folks! It’s killing you! (MeneMeneTekelUpharsin)

We need to help rehabilitate folks until the NFL non-patriotic infection is healed!"

The NFL infections are like an addicting combination of the worst African STD's combined with a DC Swamp brain killing meningitis with new infections every weekend and on Thursday night. That doesn’t include the countless hours of re runs each week before and after each game which re infects the NFL victims even on non game days.

Every freeper needs to turn off the NFL. Every one. No excuses.

Done at my house. Worked in the yard all afternoon and watched an NHL exhibition game in the evening.

The baseball playoffs should be very compelling this year.
