I even started thinking about college football. When I found out Florida was playing Michigan here in Dallas, I was excited, I shelved out the money (let’s just say it was a lot of money) and went to the game.

Besides the fact that Michigan killed us, afterwards, I really thought about and asked myself, was it really worth it to spend that kind of money for a game? Especially in light of the fact that so many Florida players are in trouble with the law. It’s just not the same, anymore.

But for now, I’ll keep watching College Football, but I am getting closer and closer to walking away for it as well. I think playoffs and the big money are ruining the spirit of it.

I’m with you. I increasingly see sports as the real American idol. And in a certain way, I was in bondage to that idol for a long time. I do a better job of keeping them in perspective than I did as a young man, but I know I still waste too much time on them.
