Roy Moore said Luther Strange lacked character and challenged Strange to say whether his office was investigating former Gov. Robert Bentley when Bentley appointed Strange to the Senate.
Strange ignored Moore's question, repeatedly talking about his endorsement by President Trump, which the president will emphasize with a campaign appearance for Strange on Friday night in Huntsville.
The two candidates went at it tonight in a 70-minute, no-frills debate. It comes five days before Tuesday's runoff for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate. The televised event in Montgomery will be the only debate of a hard-hitting six-week campaign.

This is what Big Luther covered up.
Trump is cleaver to back Strange who is not a supporter of all Trumps plans. If Strange wins, he will owe Trump. If Moore wins, he is a staunch conservative and will back Trump even though Trump backed Strange.
This is what Big Luther is into:
“Court documents show that a Republican political operative with close ties to Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange was set to live in a Mountain Brook home in 2011, even though the property in question was not sold at public auction until summer 2012.”

Ping.
Strange is dirty.

But if all things being equal, and it’s a close race, Trump will tip the scales to strange.
Trump is wrong about Dirty Luther and he won’t tip the scales.
This is only going to leave dirt on his face.
“How long has the Birmingham Superfund bribery scandal been brewing, and how big a threat could it pose for Luther Strange and his elitist supporters?”

I don’t think you can count on a senator strange being beholden to Trump. Strange would have 2 yrs to work against Trump and another 4 to make mischief even if Trump is reelected in 2020.
Trump is supporting Strange only as a sop to McConnell. I understand that. I just wish Trump wouldn’t do so much of it.
Senator Luther Strange has gone up a lot in the polls since I endorsed him a month ago. Now a close runoff. He will be great in D.C.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 21, 2017
“Tuscaloosa millionaire developer files Ethics Complaint against Luther Strange”
Millionaire Tuscaloosa real-estate developer Stan Pate has filed an ethics complaint against Sen. Luther Strange alleging his acceptance of an appointment to the US Senate was improper and violated the States ethics laws, APR has confirmed.
The ethics complaint, filed Wednesday with the Alabama Ethics Commission, alleges that Strange violated state ethics laws in three different instances: by announcing his desire to be appointed to the Senate, by accepting an interview with former Gov. Robert Bentley during an active criminal investigation his office was overseeing, and by suspending the Houses impeachment investigation into Bentley.
I sure hope not. Moore did well in the debate against an establishment hack.
This just shows that Trump is part of the establishment and it's his swamp now.
If anyone is actually swayed by the endorsement and Strange wins (he’s down) I wonder what apologetics people will come up.
Thanks for the ping
Of course he did, what’s gonna say, the truth about it being a corrupt bargain? LOL. I’d have some respect for him if he did.
They only want Luther because he’s dirty and can be controlled.
There is NOTHING CLEVER about President Trump abandoning his base in support of McConnell’s candidate..............it does not benefit his agenda one bit.
I agree totally!!!
