Long ago during her singing for MGM in Las Vegas her contractual condition was rose petals decorating her toilet water.

Once, right?

No I mean every time it was flushed; there would be an employee making sure fresh rose petals got back into that unflushed toilet water every time it was flushed. And yeah this employee would have to stand there all day, basically.

I guess a toilet slave, more or less.

Embarrassed, the MGM management explained their building was much older than most people suspected:

they would have to replace all the piping for her rose petal demand.

That didn’t bother her at all, she held fast to her condition and indeed MGM did go ahead and replace all that piping.

I imagine it’s not uncommon for celebrities to control the way they are photographed. Barbara Walters brought along her own lighting man when she was interviewed. He probably had soft lenses that were to be used.
