He was a patriot- loved his country, did the best job he could for it. Darned good firearm in terms of matching the mission.
IIRC, “Kalish” is actually used for “warrior” in some African areas, that’s something that many a man would envy.

Patriot that loved his country? I thought that made one a fascist. Was he a Trump supporter? That would elevate him to white supremacist status as well. 👹

The AK-47 became famous because not only was it phenomenally reliable, it was also very easy to manufacture. Sure, it was not the most accurate of automatic weapons but the qualities I mentioned above explained why many millions of AK-47’s (and its smaller caliber version, the AK-74) were built around the world.

You need to do a little tweaking especially on the ones that were assembled in Eastern block countries if you want to get any kind of accuracy out of them. But I do love the one that we have.

I prefer a 308 caliber or 30.06 like an AR-10 or M1A, but then I only shoot in semi-auto mode. If I was going full auto I’m sure I would prefer an AK
