We already knew that Paul Manafort was in a heap of trouble. It was almost two months ago July 26, to be precise that his Virginia residence was raided by the FBI in the predawn hours.
As I said at the time, prosecutors do not obtain warrants to toss the homes of people they regard as cooperating witnesses. When they are dealing with cooperators, prosecutors politely request that documents be produced, expecting the witness (and his lawyers) to comply. If some coercion is thought necessary, they will issue a grand-jury subpoena an enforceable directive to produce documents, but one that still allows the witness to hand over the materials, not have them forcibly seized. The execution of a search warrant, even if it goes smoothly, is a show of force. It is intimidating.

Unfortunately for Manafort, that makes Trump his nightmare client. He wouldn’t be under such intense scrutiny if he hadn’t been associated with Trump.
If they can’t take the administration down, they’ll at least try to ruin the lives, fortunes and honor of Trump’s associates and friends...
Does Mueller put a gun to Manaforts head to make him say that Trump discussed working with the Russians to steal and release DNC emails?
Is that where this is going?
Manafort may say anything for freedom.
Guilt by accusation.
Exactly! And where is Sessions? The __cker is nowhere to be found. In the mean time people who are tied to Trump are being raped financially and put through hell emotionally.
Manafort may or may not be a good guy, but compared to Crooked Hillary? Really???
I’m not dumping on Manafort, I’m just pointing out that he’s collateral damage in the Great Swamp Attack on Trump.
The irony here is that all of the surveillance apparently related to his work with foreign governments ... which means he wasn't just a denizen of OUR swamp, either.
One interesting aspect of all this was that the warrant to conduct surveillance against Manafort apparently came through a secret FISA proceeding. This gives President Trump a perfectly reasonable response to any political criticism he gets over this whole thing: "I never would have hired him if I knew he was the subject of an FBI investigation, but since that whole process was a secret one I had know way of knowing anything about it."
Thank you for posting both articles. National Review is not impressive on this one.
“What the Media Get Wrong About Manafort Wiretapping”
I can’t believe Mueller isn’t getting criticized more.
-- Mark Steyn
Where the hell are NR articles on Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wishesshewasawoman-Sgt.Schultz being in legal jeopardy?
“Again, this doesnt make Trumps tweets [about phones being wiretapped] correct or justifiable. But it does once again raise the question whether Trumps conversations were tapped.”
I think I am going to need some help with this contradiction. Phones lines were not tapped but his conversations were? Distinction without a difference.
I cant believe Mueller isnt getting criticized more.
NPR had a Senator on that is pushing the Illegal to Fire Muller bill. These people want war like Syria where it is mixed: left against right, black against white.
>>I cant believe Mueller isnt getting criticized more.
Our DO”J” at work...

It's an important legal distinction, but it means nothing in the world of politics. It was great for President Trump to get that legendary Twitter post out there when he did. LOL.
Yet Clinton walks..F’ing incredible!! The GOVT IS THE ENEMY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!
