A woman in Texas berated Hobby Lobby last week for selling cotton as a decorative home accessory.
This decor is WRONG on SO many levels. There is nothing decorative
about raw cotton... A commodity which was gained at the expense of
African-American slaves.
A little sensitivity goes a long way.
PLEASE REMOVE THIS "decor".
Daniell Rider posted her complaint to the craft stores Facebook page:

A little sensitivity goes a long way.The post received close to 15,000 shares and 160,000 comments. The user, Daniell Rider, then received backlash for her sensitivity and responded to her critics:
PLEASE REMOVE this decor.
All those who are offended by cotton being a decoration need to quit buying any product made of cotton! And other users quickly came to her defense, one adding:
What difference does it make if its a decoration or part of a product. Youre being hypocritical if your offended by cotton being a decoration and not offended by any product made of cotton.

I didn’t notice, did Hobby Lobby reply to this idiot woman? She’s in Texas and I’m in Texas and I would like to meet her face to face......sigh
The intercontinental railroad is ok to use.

Cotton is a beautiful plant and has nothing to do with slavery.
These misguided people need to redirect their anger towards PLANNED PARENTHOOD, the real enemy of minorities, which has murdered millions of minority babies.
Misleading headline. She wanted the cotton decorative items removed, not a ban on all things cotton. But yeah ... stupid idea.
Mass confusion...
Nope ... can’t wear that barrel either. You have to cut down trees for those.
Never underestimate the Left.
I’d be happy to use these white hands to harvest a load of poison ivy and poison oak to manufacture their underwear.
I am NOT wearing tree bark or polyester. Cotton is cool, it wears well and they can kiss this seamstress’ butt. Cotton has nothing to do with black people and the world does not revolve around them. As others have stated many a child, NOT of color, picked cotton in their family’s fields. You know sheep wool...
The Egyptians were experts at producing cotton, as were many ancient cultures. Gonna change THOSE histories, too?
Yep. Not everyone in the south could afford slaves. And my mother in law and her family grew up picking cotton on the family farm. Idiots like this person think that the only people that ever picked cotton were slaves.
My local Hobby Lobby is next to a Wal-Mart, and I’m more offended that the Wal-Mart has a sign in one aisle that says “Crackers.” They should be more sensitive and replace the sign with one that says “White Southerners.”
They also picked tomatoes, corn, beans of all kinds, okra, squash, cabbage, potatoes and even fished, tended cattle, and hogs.
So we’re gonna have to get rid of a lot more than cotton......................
Pudding?
Yeah... I Know. According to the nutcase/girl, she had a stomach bug as a child and the flu came on after consuming pudding. If that was the case for all of us, my list would include a whole bunch of stuff (mostly due to some wild party college days). :)
People marvel at computers as being the direct successor of the Industrial Revolution, but devices like this are the culmination of what started wit the cotton gin. Agricultural machines are just mesmerizing to watch in action.
John Deere honestly has just as many brilliant people as a Tesla or Space-X.
why pudding?? What is wrong with that. (that’s if she told you, of course)
Post 96. Yeah.. I know. Wacky, isn’t it?!
You are exactly right.
The other day a “friend” of mine proudly proclaimed she had hired an illegal immigrant to help with her yard work. Several years ago, she used a legit company.
I couldn’t help myself and likely ruined a long-term friendship, but I calmly said to her...Oh, so you are exploiting your illegal immigrant? She tried to say she wasn’t but then I asked what she was paying him? What happened if he had an injury on her property? What if the injury was life altering? Who paid for that? Well needless to say the conversation wasn’t at all pleasant.
I walked away and told her to enjoy being a modern day slave owner.
Why share this story? This is about the whole ‘racist’ meme. It is about what the democrat party has done to the Negro since the Civil War. It will ultimately come to the democrat party putting down these ‘uppity folks.’ But, so oddly, they don’t remotely comprehend the democrat is not their advocate/friend at all. You see, paying them what they pay their illegal immigrants for labor would equate to slavery. The democrats need this new ‘race war,’ to have reason to put down the black person.
The Negro can never be treated as slave labor. But it is the democrat’s tools that has suppressed their ascent into the American melting pot society. Instead they’ve filled their heads with a separate culture ideology. This has been done to the point that post civil rights era, we see young blacks on college campuses demanding to be self-segregated! They couldn’t destroy them with drugs, disease, abortion or birth control. But they will eventually slaughter them in the streets, prisons, or rounded up into the FEMA camps.
Why or why can the black person not ‘see,’ what is being done to them? And why does the young, white liberal not understand the useful tool/fool they are being?
Yes, the left wants a race war. The question is why? Are these left/liberal democrats still so angered by losing their slaves? After my conversation with my “friend” I have to believe there is some truth to that idea. The racism that they claim to exist...maybe it does still exist, but is the racist heart of the liberal left. Maybe they are still the ‘hate group’ they have always been?
