Left balks as Sessions returns DOJ to rule of law
Powerline ^ | September16,2017 | Paul Mirengoff

President Trump may be disillusioned with Jeff Sessions, but the Attorney General is doing an outstanding job. Perhaps his most significant accomplishment is returning the DOJ to the rule of law by reinstituting guidelines that require prosecutors to charge the most serious offenses and ask for the lengthiest prison sentences.

One indication of the significance of this accomplishment is the howling from Team Leniency, including two former Obama-appointed prosecutors — Joyce Vance and Carter Stewart, formerly the United States attorneys for the Northern District of Alabama and the Southern District of Ohio, respectively. Their lament appears in this article for NRO.

Vance and Stewart contend that Sessions has reinstated a “one-size-fits-all policy” that “doesn’t work.”

Andy McCarthy also takes on the Obama-era prosecutors’ claim that the policy Sessions has reinstated “doesn’t work.” To the contrary, the policy, in effect with little variation from from the Carter presidency until the Obama years, is one of several factors that contributed to historic decreases in crime. When bad guys are prosecuted and incarcerated, they can’t prey on our communities. The sooner they are let out, the sooner they commit crimes.

Vance and Stewart also make the familiar arguments about the racial impact of tough sentencing. They ignore the racial impact of the increased crime that results from early release.

Andy doesn’t. He writes:

If you want to obsess over groups, maybe our sympathetic attention should shift to the prey rather than the predators — the racial minorities and poor people who by an outsize margin are victims of crime. That’s the disparate impact worth fretting over. And it is exacerbated when the laws are not enforced.

There’s plenty more straight talk in Andy’s piece. The whole thing is worth reading.

Yes, we really believe that Sessions is like a coiled viper getting ready to strike. He’s been coiled (and recused) since early this year — always prepping to strike.

Meanwhile, the leftist Deep Staters in DOJ pet and cuddle with the coiled snake and occasionally feed him carefully selected small mice and frogs. But, yes we really believe, the coiled snake is preparing to strike at any moment.

Sessions is doing a pretty good job. The only problem is he’s about 1/17th as quick as he’s going to need to be to catch up with the deficit of crimes that have been committed & allowed to exist and are now firmly in place within the government. He is simply not fast enough.

I don’t know how the word “deficit” crept into my last post ..there is no deficit of crimes existing within the government.... there’s a vast Surplus.

Right and let’s not forget he’s reinvigorating the DARE program! Why should we care if Comey lied to get a Special Counsel with an unlimited budget and charter with a team of Rat Mercenaries to look into 10 year old real estate deals if that is what it takes get Trump.

So if the victims were majority white? What then?

Lord, if it is Your Will, please continue to guide, protect and direct Jeff in his service to our nation. Let him be “wise as a serpent, but gentle as a dove.” Let him discern the Truth and stay Your course for Your people. Let him find and prosecute the wicked while protecting the innocent and righteous. Thank You for placing a good and honest man in this position. Amen.

“Take it up with his boss.”

His “Boss”, his family and anyone near him is undergoing anal exam by Mueller and his Rat team thanks to Sessions. No recusal, no Mueller it’s that simple. So if Trump does anything about it all hell rains down on him. if you were Trump how ticked would you be?

Except for the clintons, and Obama and his minions. No rule of law there. Privilege of the powerful.

Yes. And if they happened to perform for more than four hours, we would be thrilled!

Been sayin’ it and sayin’ it. Sessions is excellent.

Everyone howling about the weed crackdown? The only thing gonna be cracked down on is DREAMERS so that Sessions can use the weed convictions to give them a criminal record & get rid of them.

He’s very smart, and Bannon said he was 100% right to recuse himself.

What rule of law? When federal courts ignore the law at every turn there is no rule, just anarchy of the left dressed in black dresses.

If the American Republic is to soon die, the Honorable Jeff Sessions will be it’s killer when allowed the Democrats to use the DOJ to wage lawfare on the presidency while failing to arrest the corrupt power brokers in Washington.

Sessions is too slow on the follow through of INDICTMENT or PROSECUTION of anyone for anything and is NOT the man Trump should have put in charge of the DOJ. (IMO)
