LUCASVILLE, Ohio The Latest on the scheduled execution of a contemned Ohio killer (all times local):
8:55 a.m.
The Ohio Supreme Court says it won't hear an appeal from a condemned killer who argues he shouldn't be put to death because of his age at the time of the crime.
The court declined to halt a scheduled 10 a.m. Wednesday execution in a decision released about two hours before.
Lawyers for death row inmate Gary Otte (OH'-tee) wanted the court to apply the ruling of a Kentucky court last month that found the death penalty unconstitutional for people who were under 21 at the time their crimes were committed.
Otte was 20 when he killed Robert Wasikowski (wah-sih-KOW'-skee) and Sharon Kostura in Parma, in suburban Cleveland, in 1992.
The state decision ended his legal options, because the U.S. Supreme Court already denied his attempt to delay execution.

>>won’t hear an appeal from a condemned killer
In just over half an hour, the killer won’t be heard by anyone anymore
Fortunately, he’s white, so he cannot pretend that executing deserving murderers is racist.
So, when will our federal taskmasters weigh in and dictate who can’t be executed by a state?
Many tweets from death penalty opponents, some pro. A sampling:
>#GaryOtte is a #Mormon, @JohnKasich, he’s repented. He’ll be with God, Do you plan to repent, Sir? Stop killing! I pray for you too!
>>@MaryTaylorOH @JohnKasich Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given. Do You Need Mercy? I know I do! #GaryOtte #Mercy
(Otte did not show mercy to his victims)
>>>#garyotte set to be executed at 10. Right now his parents are visiting with him #lastmeal #mushroomcheeseburger
>>>>#KILLtheKILLERS Liberal bleeding hearts like Prejean are an embarrassment to the world. @DPFocus @dpinfoctr @aclu #NEXT #GaryOtte
>>>>>Gary Otte brutally murdered two innocent people in 1992, Robert Wasikowski and Sharon Kostura. He killed them for no reason.
>>>>>>>>@JohnKasich Counting mins ‘til you’re murdered is ‘cruel & unusual’ Time to leave #deathpenalty in the past #OhNoOhio #GaryOtte
Ohio set to execute murderer
“I say, hey, oh, way to go, Ohio...”
—The Pretenders “My City Was Gone” (Rush’s theme song)
Liberals turn murderers about to be executed into victims.
“...wanted the court to apply the ruling of a Kentucky court last month that found the death penalty unconstitutional for people who were under 21 at the time their crimes were committed.”
I’d love to see how the court arrived at that decision.
I hope it’s painful.
He got to live 15 years longer than the people he killed.
Kind of unreal that he has lived 25 years after he killed two others. So much for timely justice.
Scheduled to be lethal injection and I believe some botched executions in Ohio took place in the last decade or so—and there probably will be pain. Ohio did one such execution in late June.

>>After going more than three years without killing any death row inmates, Ohio is set to resume executions after a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday (in June) that the state can continue using midazolam, the controversial lethal injection drug present in several recent botched U.S. executions.
We will grant that the plaintiffs have shown some risk that Ohios execution protocol may cause some degree of pain, at least in some people, Judge Raymond Kethledge wrote in the majority opinion for the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. But some risk of pain is inherent in any method of execution no matter how humane. And the Constitution does not guarantee a pain-free execution.
As long as there is absolute certainty that they have the actual killer, there are many positive results that come from carrying out an execution. One of the foremost is the affirmation that innocent life is sacred.
There is no doubt they have the actual killer and his own arguments have not challenged that.
So long...asshole!!!!
Maybe they are a bunch of libtards.
It’s 10:23 now. Is he room temperature yet?
“He’s dead, Jim!”
They’ve done that many times, already.
