On board the papal plane (AFP) - Pope Francis on Monday slammed climate change doubters as "stupid" in the wake of a spate of hurricanes that have thrashed the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.
"Those who deny it (climate change) should go to the scientists and ask them. They are very clear, very precise," the pontiff said Monday during a press conference on the return leg of a five-day Colombia trip.

From Wikipedia:
The Commentariolus (Little Commentary):
The Commentariolus (Little Commentary) is Nicolaus Copernicus’s 40-page outline of an early version of his revolutionary heliocentric theory of the universe. After further long development of his theory, Copernicus published the mature version in 1543 in his landmark work, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium (On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres).
Copernicus wrote the “Commentariolus” in Latin some time before 1514 and circulated copies to his friends and colleagues. It thus became known among Copernicus’s contemporaries, though it was never printed during his lifetime. In 1533, Johann Albrecht Widmannstetter delivered a series of lectures in Rome outlining Copernicus’ theory. Pope Clement VII and several Catholic cardinals heard the lectures and were interested in the theory. On 1 November 1536, Nikolaus von Schönberg, Archbishop of Capua and since the preceding year a cardinal, wrote to Copernicus from Rome and asked him for a copy of his writings “at the earliest possible moment”.”
De revolutionibus orbium coelestium:
“Copernicus finally agreed to publication of more of his main workin 1542, a treatise on trigonometry, which was taken from the second book of the still unpublished De revolutionibus. Rheticus published it in Copernicus’ name.
Under strong pressure from Rheticus, and having seen that the first general reception of his work had not been unfavorable, Copernicus finally agreed to give the book to his close friend, Bishop Tiedemann Giese, to be delivered to Rheticus in Wittenberg for printing by Johannes Petreius at Nürnberg (Nuremberg). It was published just before Copernicus’ death, in 1543.
The book is dedicated to Pope Paul III in a preface that argues that mathematics, not physics, should be the basis for understanding and accepting his new theory.”
Please don’t say things that aren’t true.
“Anyone else see the irony in this?”
Galileo Galilei perhaps?
What is really telling is that Maxine Waters wins elections and people are still Catholic.
The Pope and the Catholic Church are enemies of the American people.
And they have always been so.
I’m sure that some prior Pope labeled those who thought that the Universe didn’t revolve around the Earth to be stupid...though he or they would certainly have said so in a more genteel manner.
At least this Pope can’t have someone put on the rack for disagreeing with dogma.
The stupidest pope ever?
“What is really telling is that Maxine Waters wins elections and people are still Catholic.”
Maxine Waters wins elections because the election system in California is corrupt.
I am a Catholic and continue to believe that the Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ and the Apostles, is the one true church. The hierarchy has been infiltrated by evil people.
But as Jesus Christ himself said, And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Satan wants to destroy the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is one of his instruments.
Dear Lord! It looks like this Pope could use a harder whack in the head next time.
“Our Catholic Church does not know what they do. Leadership is lost in a dark, smoke filled tunnel. They accidentally advocate for the seizure of goods, time and talent from their congregation so that Caesar can care for others as Ceasar sees fit. (Proverbially speaking).”
I am an active, practicing catholic. I believe that the Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ and the Apostles, is the one true church. But the hierarchy has been infiltrated by evil people.
But as Jesus Christ himself said, And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Satan wants to destroy the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is one of his instruments.
"Those who deny it (climate change) should go to the scientists and ask them. They are very clear, very precise," the pontiff said [emphasis added] Monday during a press conference on the return leg of a five-day Colombia trip.
The pope needs to consider Psalms 55:21 which warns about deceptive witnesses. Global warming is man-made, except not the way that global warming alarmist want everybody to think imo.
The pope also needs to consider Proverbs 18:17 which says to consider cross-examination before deciding an issue.
My faith isnt anything to brag about, but the pope also needs to consider Ephesians 4:14, a warning against believing everything that you hear.
The pope needs to start devoting more of his time to the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20 imo, instead of spending his time with politically correct issues, Jesus teaching of Matthew 6:27 concerning worrying also coming to mind.
Who cares what that imbecile thinks? He’s nothing more than a Marxist moron on a bully pulpit. Probably likes little boys too.
On behalf of Pope Francis, Im not sure from article if he actually called climate change deniers stupid, or if AFP is putting words into his mouth.
From the article:
“A phrase from the Old Testament comes to mind: ‘man is stupid, a stubborn, blind man’,” he added.
Francis said individuals and politicians had a “moral responsibility” to act on advice from scientists, who had clearly outlined what must be done to halt the course of global warming.”
Pope Francis not only called those who disagree with the Global Warming hypothesis stupid. Pope Francis also called them stubborn, blind and immoral.
No she wins elections mostly because she gets an enormous amount of actual votes plus or minus an unknown amount of corruption even after people hear her speak.
The pope and the RCC are supposed to be infallible yet everyone with eyes to see can see what this pope is. This pope did not select himself to be pope.
“Anyone else see the irony in this?”
Galileo Galilei perhaps...
“The pope and the RCC are supposed to be infallible”
A Pope is only said to be infallible on certain issues of church dogma when he issues an ex Cathedra Pronouncement. To date there have only been two ex Cathedra Pronouncements.
The idea is that Jesus said, And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Therefore the Holy Spirit would not allow Satan to destroy the Church through the errors of Popes.
However, nothing that Pope Francis has said is regarded as infallible.
