Pope slams climate change deniers as 'stupid'

On board the papal plane (AFP) - Pope Francis on Monday slammed climate change doubters as "stupid" in the wake of a spate of hurricanes that have thrashed the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.

"Those who deny it (climate change) should go to the scientists and ask them. They are very clear, very precise," the pontiff said Monday during a press conference on the return leg of a five-day Colombia trip.

“Same thing happened to Copernicus.”

You don’t know what you are talking about.

Copernicus was a Catholic priest and a Catholic scholar.

Copernicus was administrator of the Catholic diocese of Allenstein. It was Cardinal Schonberg, then Archbishop of Capua, in a letter, dated 1536, who first urged Copernicus to publish his discovery, or have copies made at the cardinal’s expense. Copernicus theory was published by Catholic Bishops and Pope Paul III.

Opposition was raised against the Copernican system by Protestant theologians for Biblical reasons and strange to say it has continued, at least sporadically, to our own days. Martin Luther, Melanchthon and other Protestants of the time were strongly opposed to the theory of the heliocentric system.

The pope is retarded.

Like there’s never been hurricanes before this year? What does this idiot pope think caused the Spanish galleons to sink in the 1500’s?

I was raised Catholic, but it’s left-wing bullcrap like this that caused me to walk away in the 1980’s when I lived in the former golden state of California.

Meanwhile, pope Moonbat the First is flying around on the “papal plane.” How many tons of carbon is spewed into the atmosphere while Frankie flies around spewing his left-wing BS?

No.. what’s “stupid” is ascending to the Papacy, then expecting westerners to adopt your socialist, pro-homosexual, climate god-worshipping ways, just because you’re the “pope” and what you say is supposedly sacrosanct.

Bite it, Bergoglio. If you had any decency, you’d step down.. today.

Well first of all, I don’t believe he is the Pope. I believe Benedict XVI is still the Pope. So I make fun of Bergolio when necessary and ignore him at other times. I read the teachings of the Church before VII and take to heart the teachings of Pope St Pius X. Our Lord is still in charge. The parable of the wheat and tares comes to mind.

“If Frankie wants to get involved in politics, then it’s time to tax the Church as a political organization.”

Better yet, stop sending our Tax $’s to any Catholic Church or fake charity!

Without our tax $’s and illegal aliens as members, the C church will probably disappear from most of the blue states/counties and cities.

The surviving ones in Deplorable country will wise up and stop this bs.

Circa 1508, Copernicus developed his own celestial model of a heliocentric planetary system. Around 1514, he shared his findings in the Commentariolus. His second book on the topic, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, was banned by the Roman Catholic Church.

The so-called “scientists” get paid tons of money to spew their “global warming / climate change” BS. Follow the money.

Like you said, in spite of all the money they receive, the predictions of these so-called experts rarely pan out.

Personally, I don’t like horse radish, but if someone paid me a boatload of money to do a commercial extolling the virtues of horse radish while holding up a bottle, I would accept their offer.

God told Noah after the flood ... Genesis 7: 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Francis is the ‘stupid’ one.

I’m a practicing Catholic. So take this in light of that...

Our Catholic “Social Justice” Doctrine is out of control. Our Catholic Church has lost it’s way regarding our original charter. Jesus never taught, “Petition the government to do the work of God for us.” We are supposed to be in the business of saving soles first, not lives and lively hoods at the expense and suffering of others.

Our Catholic Church does not know what they do. Leadership is lost in a dark, smoke filled tunnel. They accidentally advocate for the seizure of goods, time and talent from their congregation so that Caesar can care for others as Ceasar sees fit. (Proverbially speaking).

How does supporting government oppression get an individual’s soul into heaven? Where did Jesus teach us that supporting someone else’s good intentions qualifies us for life ever after in the Kingdom of God?

How about this Pope start advocating for individuals to find God and build a relationship and life in the image of Christ? Let’s try that and only “give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.”

Well, we now have proof that the Pope is not infallible.

The Cardinals have a responsibility to remove such a denier of the faith.

Thanks for posting this. Not just the Catholics are facing what you posted. Basically, we the members of any so called Christian Churches are getting bombarded with Social Justice Warrior bs from the pulpits to our daily readings 24/7!

"Those who deny it (climate change) should go to the scientists and ask them. They are very clear, very precise,"...

I do not fault the failed AGW climate models in their clearness or precision. Nor do I fault them for turning out to be wrong in that they all overestimated future global temperature, and most wildly so. Indeed I appreciate that the models have falsified the AGW theory that there is a feedback in the climate system that would exaggerate the mild direct effect of the small green house effect of additional CO2. I also appreciate the lag in the Ice Core records that falsifies that theory. I am thankful that climate science was able to assure us that we will not get dangerous warming from CO2. And I was glad I listened to what the research clearly and precisely shows.

I DO fault people that are clinging to a dead theory and calling those who do not cling to it with them "deniers" though.
