Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon blasted the geniuses in former President George W. Bushs administration for selling out American workers and getting the country stuck in the Middle East in a 60 Minutes interview with CBS anchor Charlie Rose.
Bannon took offense at establishment Republicans associated with the Bush administration who went out of their way to question President Donald Trumps competence during the 2016 campaign even though nearly all of their genius ideaslike Paul Wolfowitzs brand of nation-building and neoconservatismturned out to be disastrous.
I hold these people in contempt, total and complete contempt, Bannon told Rose, adding that the former Bush administration officials get him riled up with anger like nothing else. Theyre idiots, and theyve gotten us in this situation, and they question a good man like Donald Trump.
Bannon blasted the geniuses in the Bush administration that let China in the W.T.O., and reminded Rose that the genius in the Bush administration told us, Hey, theyre going to be a liberal democracy. Theyre going to be free-market capitalism. The same geniuses that got us into Iraq.
Bannon also denounced George W. Bush and his entire national security apparatus, which included people like Condi Rice, Brent Scowcroft, Colin Powell and Dick Cheney.
Consistent with the disdain he has always had for the bipartisan permanent political class in Washingtons Boomtown, Bannon also blasted the Obama crowd, which he said was almost the same.
Clinton crowd, almost the same, he continued. Its three administrations.

We should learn this lesson: Do not have a president whose family business is politics.
Such people have no clue as to the real lives led by real people.
Career politicians should be despised and spit upon in public.
Sounds like Bannon’s contempt for the Bush family rivals mine.
Sometimes the truth hurts, and he had a LOT to say, and people who are wise need to take heed. Good interview. I am sure the Main Stream Media discarded and scoffed, and snickered up their sleeves.
Kudos to CBS for letting him get it out. It can’t help the left. Too many points that will have Democrat voters questioning what they really stand for.
‘Sounds like Bannons contempt for the Bush family rivals mine.’
Ditto that!
We know now that W was merely a pawn of the globalists.
The globalists benefitted. We suffered.
‘60 Minutes’ thought Bannon sounded ‘wacko’. They meant for that to hurt him or they would have taken it out.
Good thing they have such tin ears.
The really sad part is to imagine how much worse shape we would be in had Gore been elected.
Career politicians are a uniquely stupid lot.
A pox on all of them.
And....off with their heads.
Did anyone notice how his emotionality increased discussing Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama? Bannon like many of us gets the screwing we have taken for the last 28 years. I’ve said it before, PDJT is a return to 1988, the last year of Reagan, 88’ was a good year imho, and I am happy Bannon gets it too, I don’t agree with Bannon, Bannon agrees with me.....
Used to love W. But after the 2016 election and what’s followed with the Bush deep state traitors, I have no sense of connection to him any longer. He’s a globalist idiot.
The GOP would have fought Gore.
Bush was the Trojan.
That, and they figure it will light a factional fire within the GOP. They don't realize that that fire has been smoldering since GHWB smothered the Reagan Revolution and is now burning brightly.
They are too busy over reacting to a hurricane to pay attention to politics.
Trump need to fire broadside now and dont stop till they all cry uncle.
Wow!
You’re right.
‘60 Minutes’ still thinks they need to fan discord between us and the GOPe.
Heheh!
They are still out of touch.
Excellent point.
I still think there’s a lot of good in GW.
But he slandered the Minutemen, and that was all it took for me to know how unbalanced his priorities are.
G. W. Bush made Obama’s election possible. Not all his fault, but he was instrumental.
The treachery of the Bush Family extends way back to the 70s with George H.W. Bush showing his true colors vis-a-vis Reagan. Nobody should be surprised. They are New England GOP-e to the core.
