HELP !!! HELP !!!
I live in Tennessee and I’m in the path of a hurricane !!!
what’ll I do ??? What’ll I do ???
Don’t hang out in low lying areas and be in a sturdy building. Mostly it’s likely to be a very strong rainstorm by the time it gets up to you.
No hurricanes in TN. Otherwise, the rule of thumb is to run from the water, hide from the wind. Thanks for checking in.
Prepare as if you are going to lose power. Pots of rain with significant gusts can cause trees to land on power lines. Procure a generator if possible. Ger bottled water. Gas your car. Fill empty gas cans if possible. No furniture or garbage cans outside. Your basic spring or fall tornado frontnpreparation.
Steal sneakers and malt liquor.
Horde your Marmite! :)
Lol.. I am too. Took a picture of the track saying knoxville was the target earlier this week.
I made it through the derrecho, so.. no worries. Of course I walked five miles home after midnight.
When we get through it, I'll give you a few tips! ;)
I am in Fayetteville, TN about 35 miles north of Huntsville. Irma hurricane is projected to be a Tropical storm or depression by the time it gets to TN. My wife and I lived 17 miles from Key West for 10 years and ducked our fair share of hurricanes, tropical storms an depressions. Irma will come into TN with winds speeds of 40 to 60 mph - anything loose like deck furniture, trash cans, etc. needs to be secured. Having a generator is a good idea, since tree limbs and or trees will come down. Also flash flooding is possible in those areas that are prone to it. Don’t Panic.
I live in western NC and was hit severely by Ivan. Had help from FEMA.
I agree with post #24. Good advice.
