One of the hardest things I've ever done in this life, was crawling thirty feet on my belly into a full strength hurricane-force wind, to an open doorway.
If you've never experienced it, you simply can't comprehend the power of those winds. They'll kill you.
Thanks for that ground truth. I hope skeptics heed it.
I got stuck outside last year in a powerful inland thunderstorm - nothing even close to a hurricane - and it was terrifying! The wind was so strong I could hardly walk against it, and the rain was torrential, blowing sideways. When I made it into a building, it took me a long time to calm down and get my breath back.
I can’t imagine being stuck outside in a hurricane.
Shoot, the most I’ve ever been directly exposed to was roughly 80-something mph & heavy rain for several seconds. That was enough for me!
I don’t envy you!
