Former President Obama lashed out at President Trump for ending the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program, which was thought to be on shaky legal ground.
Obama ripped Trump as “cruel,” lacking ” basic decency” and acting “contrary to our spirit, and to common sense.”
“To target these young people is wrong – because they have done nothing wrong. It is self-defeating – because they want to start new businesses, staff our labs, serve in our military, and otherwise contribute to the country we love. And it is cruel,” Obama wrote in a lengthy Facebook post.
“What if our kid’s science teacher, or our friendly neighbor turns out to be a Dreamer? Where are we supposed to send her? To a country she doesn’t know or remember, with a language she may not even speak?”

When you rule by pen&phone rather than checks and balances of Legislative and Judicial branches, this is what can happen.
Under Obama, DACA was implemented by skipping the Legislative step, which means it was not Constitutional.
The Trump Administration has given the full Congressional branch of the government the opportunity to right this wrong and to make DACA a legal action--if that branch, as representatives of "the People" and "the States" wish it to be.
Back up your words with actions, Congress and Senators, if you wish!
The former President should be thanking the current one for, by this action, allowing his Executive Order to become valid and in concert with the Constitution both promised to defend and uphold by their actions.
I believe it was Obama’s ill-advised Executive Action (not Executive Order) with a five year limit ending yesterday we are talking about. He fixed it as a mouse-trap for trap.
Trump handled it exactly right.
To be fair, he likes basketball, too.
He also said repeatedly (and correctly) that he did not have the authority to enact the DREAM Act unilaterally.
He did it anyway.
It’s not legal, courts have already said so.

Obama has a lot of nerve calling Trump’s DACA stance cruel.
What Obama did was cruel.
He lured the illegals into the country under false pretenses and false hope. He slapped the aesthetically pleasing title “Dreamers” on them and then gathered all their personal data for DNC fundraising purposes. He then let them live a lie for years without trying to help them out of their unlawful situation, while continuing to make promises he couldn’t fulfill. Then he left them in the lurch, “without a country” as he left office and blamed others for his failings.
That is cruel.
Now, President Trump inherits Obama’s mess and offers a legal solution.
