Utah Detective Who Violently Arrested Nurse In Viral Video Loses Ambulance Job

The Salt Lake City police detective who arrested nurse Alex Wubbels for not allowing police to draw blood from an unconscious patient has been fired from his part-time paramedic job with Gold Cross Ambulance Service. Payne was placed on paid administrative leave from his full-time job as an officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department after a video of the arrest went viral. In a separate video recorded after the arrest, Payne asked another officer how the incident would affect his part-time position with the ambulance company. Payne bragged that he could retaliate against the hospital by only bringing them “transients,” adding that he would “take good patients elsewhere.” Gold Cross posted a statement on Facebook on Tuesday that said they took Payne’s “inappropriate remarks regarding patient transports seriously” and announced Payne’s termination was “effective immediately.”

Why, yes it does.

Of course that does not apply to employers who may fire you at any time for shooting your mouth off.

The nurse was punished by officer Jackboot by being manhandled and kidnapped and you seem blissfully content with that.

So yes, in your case, it all goes one way.

Employers have a right to fire employees who make public statements that are detrimental to the business.

this guy really needs an attitude adjustment

In PRISON

before he's ever allowed to work in either role ever again.

And he should never work in any public safety job ever again. I'm not sure I'd trust him to ask "Want fries with that?"

“Punishing someone before a trial is not a good thing for a society.”

Trial, my ass. The cop should have been dropped on the spot for kidnapping a nurse!

He is the poster face for someone who has no business being a cop. He’s a disgrace to the badge he wears.

I remember a DEA agent in Portland OR that pulled his badge when he got to the gate too late. While noticing the plane being pushed away from the gate, ordered the airline personnel to bring the plane back.

Another one was a Fed who pushed himself past the security point in Billings MT so that they could make their flight. I believe both of them were properly canned.

Why not go full mob mentality and get some torches pitchforks and some rope. To Hell with law and order.

Right?

So many people have a hidden Antifa side.

To Hell with law and order.

That is officer Jackboot's attitude EXACTLY.

And you are more then willing to not only accept that but condemn all who oppose him.

So many people have a hidden Antifa side

Like officer Jackboot.

To hell with the Constitution. It is MY LAW and I will use violence against anyone who tries to uphold that outdated document. You are fine with that.

Right?

It’s quite obvious that your a mobster.

I say let the law work. He will get his punishment.

But not at the expense of tearing down our legal system. Remember what is done lawlessly to him can then be turned on you.

No, that would be you.

You are the one in favor of tearing down our legal system by allowing abuse under the color of authority.

You are not willing to let the law work but applaud those who break the law as long as they are wearing the "correct" clothing.

Remember what was done lawlessly to the nurse could be done to you.

You putting your words in my mouth and then railing for mob rule makes you sound very much like AntiFa.

I’ve not said anything about giving anyone a pass.

I say give the law it’s time to work.

The solution is to remove LEO immunity to civil suit.and require, as a condition of employment, that LEOs must purchase malpractice insurance. If they cost the insurer more than the actuaries deem reasonable, they will be unemployable in law enforcement.
Eliminate their immunity from civil action, just as doctors have to carry malpractice insurance, police officers should be required to carry professional liability insurance as a condition of employment. Can’t find an insurance compny willing to insure you...find another line of work.
