Hi Luv. While you like to dance, I like to strut my stuff in RIDING BOOTS. One of the few times I actually matched the quiz.

The years working were misery for me because I had to wear SHOES all the time. Never got to wear sandals or anything close to open since I was a waitress.
Now cool and cold times are approaching and it’ll be shoes and socks time once again. Tootsies aren’t happy when confined. LOL

Give It to God
September 6, 2017
Then [Hezekiah] went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord.
2 Kings 19:14
As a teenager, when I became overwhelmed by enormous challenges or high-stakes decisions, my mother taught me the merits of putting pen to paper to gain perspective. When I was uncertain whether to take specific classes or which job to pursue, or how to cope with the frightening realities of adulthood, I learned her habit of writing out the basic facts and the possible courses of action with their likely outcomes. After pouring my heart onto the page, I was able to step back from the problem and view it more objectively than my emotions allowed.
Just as recording my thoughts on paper offered me fresh perspective, pouring our hearts out to God in prayer helps us gain His perspective and remind us of His power. King Hezekiah did just that after receiving a daunting letter from an ominous adversary. The Assyrians threatened to destroy Jerusalem as they had many other nations. Hezekiah spread out the letter before the Lord, prayerfully calling on Him to deliver the people so that the world would recognize He alone . . . [is] God (2 Kings 19:19).
When were faced with a situation that brings anxiety, fear, or a deep awareness that getting through it will require more than what we have, lets follow in Hezekiahs footsteps and run straight to the Lord. Like him, we too can lay our problem before God and trust Him to guide our steps and calm our uneasy hearts.
Do you have a prayer request? Share it with the Our Daily Bread family at YourDailyBread.org.
God is our greatest help in times of distress.
Hezekiah had many reasons to fear Assyria, a cruel nation (19:2526) that had already conquered the ten tribes of Israel (see 2 Kings 17:118). But God reminded Hezekiah that He was more powerful than Assyria and could be trusted to keep His promises (19:2834).
What overwhelming situations might you need to trust God with?

Hi radu!
I did run a few errands early morning and then just stayed in for the rest of the day. Still smokey.
Anything new with you?

Oooooo, I hope David is planning to head out regardless of whether they tell people to do so or not. It looks like that part of FL is going to get a heavy hit no matter which track turns out to be “the one”. :-(

I was afraid it was still smokey there. Has anything been said about when the winds might change direction and give y’all a break?
Nothin’ new here today. The cats are on their monthly full moon rampage through the house. I’m tucked in my little corner watching part two of the History Channel’s 9/11 documentary.

Unfortunately the fires surround us in most directions, just hoping for cooler weather and rain.

Oh man! I didn’t realize there were that many in your area. Not good at all. Praying y’all get some rain to help put the fires out SOON.

Indeed. I saw one video, but it was old and was of a tornado not a hurricane. I’m sure there will be lots of them soon!

Cowboy boots...just keep on keepin’ on! My hubby has some 30-year old ones and if he keeps them re-soled, they still look pretty darn good!
As he says...just gettin’ ‘em broken in!

Mine aren’t either and I can hardly stand anything that laces or zips like some boots do!
I mostly wear shoes without backs so I can get out of ‘em fast! LOL!

The clips I saw were on the news on TV this evening. Lots of wind and rain already.
Volunteers are training now in Nashville to be ready to help out areas hit by Irma. Many have already been trained and have gone to TX to do what they can. They talked about it on Nashville news this evening and again just a minute ago.

I do like dress boots in the winter but the last pair I had gave up the ghost after MANY years of wear. Just haven’t bought another pair.
Shoes without backs won’t work here during winter. Too cold!
The little Danskins I have are easy to slip on and off, though, and are comfy. And cheap. LOL! I’m a bit of a penny-pincher on everything except the kittehs. With them, I go all out when necessary.

You are a complete and total rebel. You refuse to do what you're told, and you're quite stubborn. You really don't care what other people think of you. You are tough and often ruthless. You are independent, iconoclastic, and countercultural. You resent authority figures. You are very headstrong. No one is going to pressure you into being someone you're not! Can you believe this??? LOL! Guess it's pretty spot-on! :) That's why you retired before you slugged the next person to tell you what to do! ;) |
