(CNN) — Hillary Clinton casts Bernie Sanders as an unrealistic over-promiser in her new book, according to excerpts posted by a group of Clinton supporters.
She said that his attacks against her during the primary caused "lasting damage" and paved the way for "(Donald) Trump's 'Crooked Hillary' campaign."
Clinton, in a book that will be released September 12 entitled "What Happened," said Sanders "had to resort to innuendo and impugning my character" because the two Democrats "agreed on so much."
The excerpts represent a small number of the roughly 500-page book in which Clinton reflects on her stunning loss to Donald Trump in 2016. The few pages on Sanders are also remarkably candid for a candidate who was more known for being careful than blunt, especially when it came to the Vermont senator.
A Clinton spokesman declined to comment on the published excerpts.

Anyone who would spend $20 on her stupid book is a fool. Anyone who would pay $2400 to listen to her rant/rave/rage in person is as mentally ill as Kankles is.
Actually, Bernie ought to write a book about how Hillary spoiled his campaign. He could have been the nominee had the system not been rigged against him.
I don’t think anyone ever took Bernie seriously at first. I think it was a ploy to have him bringing in the left vote, allowing her to stay in the middle. But Bernie’s following wouldn’t let him back down, even though he never really went after Hillary.
In short, let’s speculate what would have happened had Bernie NOT entered the race.
So, Hildebeast feels justified in stealing donor money, bottom line. Do a web search of ActBlue versus ActBlues to see how they did it by adding that “s” to the web address in the donor form, taking Sanders donors’ money.
These little snippets are being released to create buzz for the book before it hits the market; to whet your appetite so you’ll go out and buy it.
When the book is released, it will disappear.
Everything is always unfair to Hillary. How dare anyone be an opponent to her, it should have been a coronation for Democrat nominee. And then when Trump beat her six ways from Sunday, all through the race, it had to be because the Russians engaged in some massive conspiracy with Trump their spy.
