A Senate Republican is standing up for a GOP colleague in his contentious reelection bid, despite opposition from President Trump.
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) will speak at a Phoenix fundraiser for Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) in support of the senator's reelection campaign against a pro-Trump challenger, according to azcentral.com.
Ernst will appear at a Young Republicans meet-and-greet event on Sept. 7, followed by a "Women for Flake" fundraiser the next day, Flake's campaign told the paper.

incumbency more important than principle.
I wonder if McCain is going to beg Palin to come and campaign for his buddy Flake.
McConnell and friends are working very hard to elect stealth democrats in republican primaries. Then they can help their rat friends maintain the rat agenda.
Republican schizophrenia never ceases to amaze. Most do not know what they stand for.
Joni yes, Corn Flake no!
Repubs should refrain from endorsing in Repub primaries. Let the damned things play out, THEN endorse the winner. No use burning bridges before they’re in play.
Indeed, she ought to go back to slopping her hogs!!!
Would also be great to she her take a flying leap into the Grand Canyon with that no-good Flake!!
Candidate Trump went out of his way to say good things about this S.N.O.B., and this is how she repays his kindness.
Flakey Ernst, soon to be toast.
I like both of your ideas!
I knew she was a Cheap Labor Express Republican.
We have to stop electing them.
Cheap Labor Express stooge
She sure is showing her RINOness! Hoping Freeper Trump supporters are making a list of those RINO swamp critters up in 2018, 2020 and beyond! They need to be kicked out in the primary elections!
Dear Senator Ernst:
We were surprised and disappointed to learn of your plan to speak at a Phoenix fundraiser for Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) in support of his reelection campaign against a pro-Trump challenger:
By now, you’ve been in the Senate long enough to know Mr. Flake is part of the problem there.
Or, Senator Ernst, was all your “Make ‘Em Squeal” stuff just so much campaign hogwash to win election?
Better not get too comfortable in the swamp. It will be drained before we’re finished.
Sincerely,
[Mr. and Mrs. Newgeezer]

Did you really send that e-mail?
I'm getting so sick of politics and politicians!!!!
My heathen grandparents didn't vote because they hated them all. My Very faithful Christian mentor didn't vote because politics is worldly and our calling is heavenly.
Copy-and-pasted from the actual thing.

Gotta wonder why the WH caved so easily on the hurricane-relief-held-hostage-by-the-debt-ceiling-increase bill. That seemed like the perfect opportunity to tell the liberals and spineless worms in both parties to get their sh*t together. Come back with a clean bill... or, give *us* something (e.g. wall funding) too.
Kick the can 3 months down the road with NOTHING to show for it. Standard operating procedure in D.C.
Guess I'll have to keep watching for the art in that deal.
