Yes, the MSM has admitted they got 2016 exactly wrong and that they are out-of-touch with the average American. What truly terrifies the media about 2016, though, is something that has remained largely unspoken. It is what Trump’s victory said so clearly about the MSM’s inability to influence public opinion and, by extension, the outcome of elections. What has also remained unspoken is the media’s desperate and dangerous reaction to this waning influence.
As a 25 year media-watcher, I have never seen anything close to the propaganda campaign the national media launched to defeat Donald Trump last year. It was 24/7, it was coordinated across every news outlet, it was all-hands-on-deck. And Trump still won. Which can only mean that the media’s influence has eroded to a point where, despite hurling every kitchen sink available, they suffered a humiliating loss last November.
Before I get into the grit of the nit, it is important to keep in mind that our media is nothing more than the communication branch of the Democrat Party. When you look at everything the media does — the lying, the campaigns of personal destruction, the fake news, the focus on stuff like Melania’s shoes — this explanation is the only one that makes sense. The media is a full-blown leftwing political operation run, for the most part, by former Democrat operatives like Jake Tapper, George Stephanopolous, and Chuck Todd, as well as those related to Democrat operatives.
Knowing that, and knowing the long history of leftwing regimes (Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Chavez, Castro), we know what a leftwing political operation does when its influence begins to diminish. Because their ideas are so unappealing and are proven failures, the left ultimately has no choice but to embrace violence and censorship.

I don’t think politicians on either side are innocent in this. They’re working through the media and these violent groups, as are the global corporations. Remember, media is corporate now. Actually the propaganda campaign launched by the MSM to ensure Donald Trump won the Republican nomination was comparable to the one they launched to tear him down as soon as Trump hand the nomination secured.
They were absolutely certain Trump could not win and contributed tens of millions of dollars worth of free media to ensure he got the nomination. As soon as their chosen Republican candidate was in place they unloaded. They spent night after night on racism, sexism, xenophobia, etc. before bringing out the big gun, the Access Hollywood tape. A week before the election they assured us that Trump was down ten points in the polls and had even lost the support of the Republican party elders. Yes, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney and even the sainted John McCain had turned against him.
Then on election day "whites with no college degree", which to them equates to "STUPID WHITE PEOPLE!!!", disregarded the wisdom of the party elders, disregarded their assurances that the polls showed he could not possibly win and that we were wasting our time even voting, showed up at the polls and Donald Trump won.
Now they're going crazy and their grip on power is slipping away. Ain't it great to watch?
I tend to agree with you that neither political party is innocent on this...however, it’s more likely that both parties are simply performing an opera under one theater operation...with lobbyists, foundations, and agenda groups arranging the actors and screenplay for each day. Kinda like fake-wrestling.
It’s probably been that way for at least thirty years. Once Perot entered the 1992 and 1996 elections...his only purpose was to drain votes to ensure ‘fat lady-pretender’ from the Democrats gained the star billing. Since then, you can see all the various gimmicks at work and a fake democracy fully at work.
You will notice by year’s end....that Trump’s tax-cut efforts? They fail....mostly because of two or three GOP senators. All of this to lead onto the next act of the fake musical/government.

Let's not minimize Perot's appeal. He got almost 20 million votes, which is almost half of each of Bush's 39M and Clinton's 44M. A lot of the USA 25 years ago was already wary of talk of "a New World Order", already had some vague inkling that D's and R's were becoming less distinct and instead what we now refer to as "the Uniparty", and was already looking for somebody who could point to some accomplishments in the real world.
It was as if the news rooms thought if they avoid calling states for Trump he wouldn't win them...that they had the power to alter election results by will.
That should have been an early indicator of what we are experiencing now.
Yea! I keep watching the coverage over and over. I keep discovering new videos on YouTube all the time. The fun of watching the leftist commentators and "journalists" go from confident to concerned to despondent - or in some cases straight from confident to despondent, never ends for me.
Yes but Fox wouldn't call PA. None of the broadcast, cable or internet channels would call the election until Hillary called Trump to concede. It was like they were all holding out hope.

I know this is the popular MSM narrative that has been repeated ever since the election. That is, the story that the MSM built up Trump by giving him free publicity in the primaries, all the while being certain he’d lose afterwards as they turned on him and threw their support to the Hag, with the election outcome totally orchestrated by the all-powerful MSM, except they miscalculated the impact of their earlier propping up of Trump until it was too late. I think this view is poppycock.
What the MSM and the Marxocrats and their RINO colleagues have failed to recognize is that the Internet has ended their seventy year informational monopoly they’ve enjoyed since the rise of the big 3 TV networks. The liberals are no longer the information gatekeepers. The MSM has lied to the people for generations with their filters and buffers shielding the Marxocrats and their deep state operatives from scrutiny. The people know this and have discovered other information alternatives.
During the 2016 election cycle, the news outlets were ignored, the polls were ignored, and the punditocracy was ignored, of both the left and the right. The entire corrupted system of out-of-control government and the MSM was repudiated by the Trumpers. The only people the Marxocrats and the MSM now control are the crooks, thugs, and ignoramuses of the deep state, the BLM and Antifa rioters, and various and sundry other freaks and oddball fringe groups. Trump’s election was truly historic.
I can't find it, but I read an article that said in Presidential elections, close state races leaning Democrat get called earlier than those leaning Republican. It sure seemed so last election. Maybe they're waiting for the fake ballots to get counted to put the Dem over the top.
I though Fox was by far the best TV channel to watch for the election results. I still like to watch the 5 min video on YouTube of the Young Turks election night meltdown...always puts a smile on my face.
