Police quickly determined there was no intent to harm the president.

Local police and Secret Service officers questioned the woman and a passenger, before releasing them both unharmed, Cox said.

There are several things you can do if the brakes fail tho a lot of people especially women would not think of them.

You can scrub off speed by weaving the car back and forth. Downshift. Of course the mechanical brake. Try to hit something not deadly but which will still slow you down. That does not include large trees.

So the perp's vehicle was tucked in the woods, parked illegally, on a spillway into a reservoir, where the concrete slopes toward the water, when the brakes fail, and the vehicle rolls uphill toward the POTUS, with enough force to damage the vehicle, rendering it incapacitated ... Wow...yeah watching both videos and looking at where it was on google maps there was no way this was an accident. The car was where it shouldn’t have been. It emerged JUST as POTUS limo was passing. Looked to me like it was going full force and luckily they miscalculated the dip...probably ripping the brake line and/or other damage.
