A freak accident almost led to disaster on Wednesday when a brake malfunction caused a woman's car to nearly collide with President Donald Trump's motorcade on a highway in southern Missouri, police say.
Trump was returning from a speech on tax reform in Springfield when a white sedan emerged from a wooded area, plowed down an embankment, and headed directly for the presidential limousine.
The car stopped about 10 meters (30 feet) from Trump's limousine, which sped by unharmed with the rest of the motorcade. Video posted on social media showed a woman emerge from the car, seemingly distressed at her accident.

The car’s motion in the video looks pretty odd to me. Where was it coming from? It doesn’t even look like it was on a road. What was it doing in the woods?
Biggest oddity: To me it looked like the ditch would have stopped it. Or at the very least slowed it much more. It looks to me like it would have had to accelerate to make it through the ditch and onto the road. Just my opinion eyeballing it. I think if someone took some measurements and made some calculations we’d have a better idea.
Did anyone film them towing this vehicle away?

Sure, no intent. Except there was no road there and it was nowhere near any designated store exit. Nope sorry, ain’t buying this load. We went over all this the other day with satellite views of the area.
This was a test run to gauge reaction or some such. NO WAY was this a coincidence. NO WAY. Not a single FReeper is dumb enough to believe it was.
Besides the parking brake, one can turn the ignition off and let the engine decelerate the car, once it slows enough jam it into Park or Reverse. I think if I were headed towards a busy highway with cross traffic, I would spin the steering wheel and hit anything else rather than ram into cross traffic.
Wow...yeah watching both videos and looking at where it was on google maps there was no way this was an accident. The car was where it shouldn’t have been. It emerged JUST as POTUS limo was passing. Looked to me like it was going full force and luckily they miscalculated the dip...probably ripping the brake line and/or other damage.
Don’t late model cars have dual braking systems, where one front wheel and the opposite rear wheel are on one line, and the remaining two wheels on the other. If one line fails, there are two remaining wheels with brakes. IIRC, my 81 VW Rabbit had that. Diesel with 5 spd. stick. Sweet car.

ON second look it appears that they probably were in the Bass pro call center parking lot, lost their brakes, and came out of the woods down the road from the retention pond or whatever it was. But wow...

O.K., She made it across the waterway. What caused her to stop where she did, and not continue out onto the highway? Engine quit? Bust something crossing the waterway? What? The POTUS’ limo is built like a tank. Had she actually collided with it, there’s no way she’d injure him. If she did have ulterior motives, she hatched a stupid plan to do something about it.
