(SALT LAKE CITY) A Utah police officer's body camera video shows a hospital nurse being handcuffed after refusing to draw blood on an unconscious patient.
The video taken at University Hospital in Salt Lake City shows nurse Alex Wubbels calmly explaining to Salt Lake detective Jeff Payne that she couldn't draw blood on a patient who had been injured in a car accident. She told the officer a patient was required to give consent for a blood sample or be under arrest. Otherwise, she said police needed a warrant.
The dispute ended with Payne telling the nurse she was under arrest and physically moving her out of the hospital while she screamed.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Wubbels was not charged. Police have started an internal investigation, but Payne remains on duty.

The WORST thing about this mess isn't that one bad apple exists. It's that NONE of the other cops even said anything and this madman still remains a cop after ignoring the law and going on a power trip on VIDEO
Just like this cop who ADMITTED to planting drugs on poor innocent people and didn't spend 1 day in jail! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2095772/Cowboy-cop-Jason-Arbeeny-planted-crack-couples-car-seat-escapes-jail.html
Or these people who were raided by militarized police over tomato plants! The idiots who did this are still on duty and the local judge ignored it! http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article163500778.html
We must ALL call to independently investigate and break up these militarized gangs of thugs called "police". Or some day it will be YOU and YOUR FAMILY at the receiving end of this abuse that NEVER goes punished!!
The “Us against Them” mentality is due for a reversal.
You’re just a cop hater.
I better add the /S tag
Deprivation of rights under the color of law.
A more interesting point of this story is that it DIDN’T involve any Florida LEO’s.
That looks horrible. Very unprofessional. He stalked and pursued the nurse because she wasn’t saying what he wanted to hear. He disrupted the calm in an emergency room with his power struggles. That’s upsetting to the other doctors working on their own patients.
I would hate for my co-worker to be treated that way when she was only doing her job. To quote her directly; “This is crazy! Why is he so angry?”
This officer should be given desk duty and never sent in this situation again. He has lots of unresolved issues.
Maybe he doesn’t like being told ‘NO’ by a woman.
Good - and lengthy - discussion of this incident here:

Nurse needs to be fired and lose her credentials as soon as possible.
Possibly charged with aiding and abetting a crime after the fact as well.
Did you know there are Democrat cops? There are cops that hate you, Trump, and everything you believe in but they’re still cops. I call these leftist cops who refuse to follow the law or make their own.
“Youre just a cop hater.”
Actually, you meant it as a joke but you hit the nail on the head.
Explain to us “cop haters” how what is happening all over the USA is not blatant Soviet-style corruption AND cover-up!! Pushed forth by WOD/DUI/WOT fear propaganda.
Countless incidents of cops breaking the law and no consequences! Disgusting!
Corrupt cops/officials caught on video should be jailed for life and publically humiliated! This open culture of corruption rots all of society from within more than anything else!
Investigate, Fire, Jail, NOW!!
I sat on a Federal jury for civil rights violations by out of control cops. What a mess. It went all the way through the department, city manager, city attorney and mayor. The cops didn’t know the feds had stung them on video and had them fill out affidavits and mail them back to the grand jurors. 5 years a pop on each count of mail fraud adds up. The 24 year old cop in my trial was looking at half a century behind bars for believing he was above the law.
I suspect the nurse will be cashing a check after the settlement/lawsuit. If anybody loses their job it should be the cop.
I suppose you can expound on what crime was committed by either the patient or the nurse?
That cop and any and all that covered for them or watched should be fired, jailed if possible.
“Nurse needs to be fired and lose her credentials as soon as possible.”
BUMP!
Judgments against cops should come straight out of the union pension fund. Give the union a good reason to oppose dirty cops, because dirty cops cost the union big time.
Everybody worries about money. Under the current system, I don’t think the union has any real reason to worry. Which to too bad.
“Nurse needs to be fired and lose her credentials as soon as possible. Possibly charged with aiding and abetting a crime after the fact as well.”
What are you talking about? She was following law to the letter. Every single person around her and her boss confirmed it. And even showed him documentation.
The only crime here was done by a powertrippig police thug and several police who looked the other way.
Fire the cop.
