President Donald Trump traveled to Texas today to survey the damage from Hurricane Harvey and be briefed on the storm relief efforts. During a stop in Corpus Christi, the president treated it much like a campaign rally, highlighting the size of the crowd that turned out to watch him speak.
This afternoon, CNN senior White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny remarked that in his reaction to the historic storm so far, POTUS appears to be more focused on the emergency response, businesses and his crowds as opposed to the victims themselves.
Reporting from Austin, where the president was scheduled to arrive at the states emergency command center, Zeleny provided the following observation to CNN anchor Brianna Keilar:
One thing I am struck by here, seeing all the stories of emotion, all the stories of loss, of devastation still unfolding we do not know the extent of the damage here very little in terms of empathy from this president. Very little in terms of emotion or talking directly to the people of Texas. Hes been talking about the businesses, talking about the response and his crowd. Certainly, this is a test, a new moment for this president. But how hell ultimately be judged, Brianna, as every president is in a disaster like this, is not on today, its on the response and the recovery and how Texas rebuilds if they get federal funds, et cetera, months, perhaps even years, from now.

Didn’t Trump send a tractor trailer full of supplies down to NO when Katrina hit? DJT has more compassion then these closeted media types. go away, fools.
everything you say and stand for is the opposite of reality.
Stay, anger and restlessness; let contentment and peace stand and yield up their seats to you. The evening will be far more interesting without them, albeit with a far higher bill to pay at the end.
Hey Zeleny....the president isn’t a pajama boy like you.
What do you expect the president to do, Zeleny....bawl his eyes out like a little girl; in other words, like you, Jeffie?
TN gets flooded and nothing from obama, Trump goes to TX to oversee they are getting everything, and now he is the one who doe snot care.
Does not matter what the President does as in the eyes of most of the media he is damned if he does , or not
What’s he supposed to do - slobber, cry and carry on? These AH’s ought to be horsewhipped.
Hell Antifa can save them in a real fight.
I am struck of how much self created reality the Richard Craniums of CNN have
How delusional. I guess the media didn’t get their money shot of Trump passing out diapers at a shelter or something.
But there’s no winning; if he was out touring flooded houses, they would say he’s exploiting flood victims and getting in the way.
As a builder and businessman, I’m sure Trump is fascinated with the emergency response and hearing about the numbers and details, something the reporter couldn’t care less about.
It’s one of a litany of talking points that is thrown out to see if it will stick. If it works,”Trump has no empathy”,will be heard on every Fake News network including fake Fox along with the cage lining print and cesspool blogsphere.
I wish he could be struck by an ENlightening.

President Trump has shown a lot of admiration for how Texans can handle any difficulty!!!! Texas Strong!!!!
That’s a lot better and a lot more on target than shedding crocodile tears for Texas! PHOOEY to CNN, as usual!!!!
... and I heard Trump released emergency funds within hours of getting the request on a SUNDAY when an Obama when have been playing golf.
These guys (progs, media, uni-party, etc.) are going to get the war they want but it ain’t gonna end how their academically trained minds think it will.
Zelany: During the first 100 days, what has surprised you the most...enchanted you the most...humbled you the most...and troubled you the most about this office?
What an @$$!
SICK ARSE leftist media!
2 semis last year, during the flood.
I'm sure he didn't expect all those people to gather to see him.
