For the short term, super critical CO2 will be a good enhancement. 30% energy boost, (with comparable reduction in pollution), and can be dropped in to replace current coal plants and gas turbines.

For the real long term, nuclear plants powered by Uranium extracted from the ocean. 2 million year supply.

Maybe it’s best to refer you to an organization called the Thorium Energy Alliance.

Again, I am not against any other form of energy. But a world run mainly on Th would be best is my position.

Watch how fast those New York Liberals yell for coal and natural gas if their whole grid were to go solo on solar energy for just one month.

Until they perfect nuclear fusion in 20 years. The Central planning government pimping solar, wind and the rent seekers plying them for favors Will all look silly..

Human brilliance and ingenuity beats central planning and statism every time.

That just proves that liberals like Como and the environmentalist are not truely for the environment.

Your exactly right that most people don’t give electricity a 2nd thought in how it’s produced or how it gets to their home until there is a blackout or poweroutage.

T.E.G.s produce electricity from temperature differences in the +side and -side of a T.E.G. electric generators.
However the efficiency of Thermal Electric Generators is not even up to par with solar, but ? Can run 24/7 and do run reliably . unlike solar and wind.
BMW a few years ago experimented with T.E.G.s with the caytslist systems on a experimental car and was able to produce 500 watts.
The thing with a T.E.G. is ? If you were in a igloo in Alaska and put a whole in the side of a igloo so one side of the T.E.G. was facing the cold air and the other side facing the warmer air inside a igloo it would still produce electricity.

I’ve been following that technology and it seems as though (unless the Chinese are still pursuing it) nobody is developing this option.

The Obama EPA was hostile to waste to energy plants, yet the Swedes seem to do it very efficiently.

My understanding is the Chinese are pursuing it and a few other countries, although I was not provided a list (nor did I ask for one).

Still, imagine the implications of extremely cheap, abundant, and safe energy.

Anyway, this is the way I see it. Others have opinions that may differ for various reasons.

Actually, I prefer 2700K LED bulbs for reading books. 2700K color temperature is very close to that of an incandescent bulb.

Just based on the mass amount of supply we have, I can’t foresee and age where we don’t use fossil fuels. The supply of oil shale/oil sands dwarfs conventional oil supply.

There are many groups / forces who would love to see the end of big oil. It would in effect be a transfer of economic power from Texas, Oklahoma, Dakota ect....to those invested in new power.

The coal plants that were closed during the Obozo administration were such a waste. They could have bee phased out, but were shuttered with many useful years left. Economic insanity by an anti growth administration.

To hurt the US, the only thing Hussein Obama and his handlers had to do is embrace the left's insanity. Hussein did not care at all about CO2 and global warming, it was simply a means to hurt the economy. Unfortunately for Hussein's attacks on the country, natural gas totally screwed him and his attack on coal.

America's FIRST Muslim President treated Americans like they are idiots.

Hussein's CO2 scam shut down more electric plants in the US than an army of terrorists could have done.

What an economic waste! The sports analogy is that you are playing a game of basketball, are about to shoot a layup, and instead give the ball to your competitor who takes it down to the other end of the court and scores. You lose the easy basket, and the opponent scores. The closed coal fired plants, which were perfectly good and useful, opened up over seas in our competitor countries.

Fossil fuels include coal, petroleum, natural gas and their derivatives, i.e. kerosene & propane.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossil_fuel

Why is the majority of the “value added” space in a coal fueled power plant consumed by emissions control equipment?

Environmental regulations enacted in the “war on coal” during Clinton and Obama administrations that resulted in over 50% of mines closed in USA.

What do China, India et al want to grow their industry and economy? Cheap energy! The cheapest for them is still King Coal!
