For the short term, super critical CO2 will be a good enhancement. 30% energy boost, (with comparable reduction in pollution), and can be dropped in to replace current coal plants and gas turbines.

For the real long term, nuclear plants powered by Uranium extracted from the ocean. 2 million year supply.
