Michael Cohen, the lawyer for Donald Trumps real estate company, reached out to Vladimir Putins personal spokesman for help with a real estate deal during the presidential campaign last year, according to new emails provided to Congress on Monday.
The Washington Post reports that Cohen asked Dmitry Peskov for help building Trump Tower in Moscow.
Over the past few months I have been working with a company based in Russia regarding the development of a Trump Tower Moscow project in Moscow City, Cohen wrote Peskov, The Post reports.
As this project is too important, I am hereby requesting your assistance. I respectfully request someone, preferably you, contact me so that I might discuss the specifics as well as arranging meetings with the appropriate individuals. I thank you in advance for your assistance and look forward to hearing from you soon, he continued.

Fake news. The Trump Organization has no real estate interests or holdings in Russia.
Even if true, I don’t see how this is a crime.
More fake news.
Faker than fake. Trump’s lawyer (of record) should sue for defamation.
Even if everything is true, mooted real estate deal has nothing to do with alleged Russian election interference.
No quid pro quo is even alleged here.
HEY BOB MUELLER - THE CLINTON FOUNDATION
HELLO?
Oh, of course. You don’t investigate crimes by the Clintons nor any other Democrat.
And, so???
Sigh, just more fake news. Unfortunately, I know people (some of them generally very smart but idiots when it comes to politics) who believe this drivel. Sigh.
exactly...they are trying so hard to make contacts with Russia a crime....if thats true, then the NHL is in big trouble...league is full of Russian players. Dems are just using this to fund raise...and the dumb asses i know actually fall for this stuff.
even if they did,,so what?
/shrug
Never in the history of mankind has a businessman asked for assistance from a government.
Just last week, the huge new Apple data center in Iowa was announced and, guess what, there are ENORMOUS tax breaks for Apple. Do you suppose that Apple engaged politicians in Iowa to get those tax breaks written into law? Nah. These things just magically happen without any discussions or meetings ever taking place. A contract just mysteriously appears POOF! in the hands of the lawyers to sign.
Damn and the BS keeps coming on. Fake news.
More Russia...Russia...Russia nonsense.
Here we go again...MUH RUSSIA...seems everything has failed so back to Russia..God forgive me but I hate them...I despise the swamp and RINOS!!!
Actually they do want holdings in Russia. They have or had one in Azerbaijan, which is Muslim country that’s part of the Russian Federation, and I read a couple of years ago that the Donald wanted to arrange to build a hotel in Moscow. Many hotel companies. have hotels in Moscow and all over the world.
The FAKE NEWS element is just that the anti-capitalist morons at news organizations do not have a clue how capitalism works, especially in these times when most large companies, whether they make tires or build hotels, operate on an international basis.. NO BIGGIE
This is very useful fake news because it isfake but keeps the Demcrats distracted as the clock ticks toward 2018 and they still have no plan no real candidates and no money
It’s an issue that Americans don’t care about and there’s no ‘there there.’ Nothing has come of it.
CNN talked about it for months and now have dropped it.
Then they said his press conference was an impeachable offense.
Slate today says pardoning Sheriff Joe is impeachable.
Histrionic lying violent nutcases intent on destroying statues and forcing trannies on children. Not exactly a formula to win elections!
LOL! Who came up with this? That skunk, Bobby Mueller?
