The famed Louisiana Cajun Navy is standing down in Houston after looters tried to steal their boats and fired gunshots at them.
The Cajun Navy made the announcement in a Facebook post Monday afternoon.
Looters decided to pose as people needing rescue and they attempted to overtake the boats and there were shots fired at the boats, the post said. I repeat they are all safe. Looters must have not wanted our boats in the water for rescues.
The Facebook post has since been removed...
Theyre making it difficult for us to rescue them, he said. You have people rushing the boat. Everyone wants to get in at the same time. Theyre panicking. Water is rising.
Because of the hostile responses, the Cajun Navy has been forced to halt some rescue attempts, Cain said...

I hear people calling out Joel Olsteen for not opening up the Summit/Lakewood Church to shelter people. It’s taken some water itself and I think I saw photos that the largely sunken garage is underwater.
Meanwhile looking at the Facebook, self-appointed community organizer and liaison between criminals and the police (he reportedly convinces criminals to surrender) Quanell X has said nothing about charity efforts or telling looters to sit this one out and stop being jackasses.
I checked some of the images posted using Google image search. They are from elsewhere. Looks like trolls.
Clearly some of the posts are jokes, have not checked some of the other. Some seem like street cred brags.
And even a “gag” about lynching black people would probably be banned at twitter. Home invading white people because they are white? No big thing to billion dollar marxists who run twitter.
Disgusting.
Shoot the animals on sight if you see them looting. The comments are infuriating... as they were meant to be.
Assh*les gloating over it.
“No description of the looters means the obvious, obviously.
So sayeth Captain Obvious.”
Sort of pussy version of Somali pirates.I don’t know that they want to mess with Cajun alligator hunters. Coon
Ass will have their ass for lunch.
1. Get aerial surveillance up to locate and identify the pirates. Apply swift justice to any looters caught.
2. Send rescue boats out in pairs.
3. Arm the rescuers.
For some reason, I am imagining similar scenarios in a Civil War.
It’s long past time to consider these sorts of scenarios and responses to them.
Might I suggest a carronade and load grape
The anti-technology Amish have taken their religious zealotry too far! Looting Best Buys to destroy big screen TVs!? Shooting at rescuers to steal their engine-powered boats!? WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END!?
It seems like it would be nightmare to open it up unless government would take responsibility.
Those darn “teens”
I worked at a major hospital in downtown Dallas when the Katrina refugees hit town. It was not pretty. They were given food, shelter and amenities they would not have otherwise had. We were constantly running them out of the hospital because they would steal from the refrigerators, poop on the sidewalks and panhandle incessantly. Most were rude to the volunteers who tried to assist them upon arrival...throwing tantrums and wanting to dictate what donated food they should eat. (instead of Jason’s Deli... they preferred McD’s or Dominos) Lots of volunteers I talked to... quit in disgust. Good grief. I wish I’d met some of the ones you spoke of. And no... they weren’t all black.
How do we know the “Cajun Navy” is trustworthy?
Anyone could be a looter in disguise . . .
Some of them went back home. They may be needed there anyway over the next couple of days.
Who’s gonna know
Stupidity has no allegiance to any particular skin color.
The ones I met that I knew of were all black. Nice folks.
Maybe it was because I was a photolab manager at an Eckerds in Plano?
Photo labs really are different places at any rate.
I remember the first day I worked for Eckerds: a lady in Highland Park asked me if I was from another planet I was so nice and interested in being helpful without a hint of sarcasm or anything like that.
In fact, coming from Abilene previously the only person I every had to let go was because they were too friendly, too familiar, and it creeped some customers out ... people FROM Abilene ... and they complained to the owners.
In Plano I was told I’d have a full staff ... and I did until loss prevention took the last of them away leaving only myself and this wonderful little lady (who still works there) left of all that “full staff” (we started there on the same day) ... but that’s another story....
