BERLIN (AP) — A male nurse who was convicted of killing patients in Germany with overdoses of heart medication is now believed to have killed at least 86 people — and the true scale of the killings could be even larger, investigators said Monday.

Many of the deaths could have been prevented if health authorities had acted more quickly on their suspicions, said Johann Kuehme, police chief in the northwestern city of Oldenburg.

My Brother in law was a nurse.

Died from a heart attack now linked to agent orange 6 years ago.

They played Taps at his funeral.

If they mean that the overall mortality rate doubled (across all shifts), then the mortality rate DURING the shifts he worked must have been much higher. Sounds like they had no statistical monitoring or review at all, bad bad practice

It’s SOCIALIZED, you think they G.A.S*?? The elite/elected would never be subjected to the same conditions.

From Wiki: “Germany has the world’s oldest national social health insurance system,[1] with origins dating back to Otto von Bismarck’s social legislation, which included the Health Insurance Bill of 1883, Accident Insurance Bill of 1884, and Old Age and Disability Insurance Bill of 1889. Bismarck stressed the importance of three key principles; solidarity, the government is responsible for ensuring access by those who need it, subsidiarity, policies are implemented with smallest no political and administrative influence, and corporatism, the government representative bodies in health care professions set out procedures they deem feasible.[11] “

Coming to a community near you . . . a study of the German health care system from 1918-1945. I suggest those seeking single payer might want to read this.

Bronze medal? I’m a civilian so instead of insulting me and a man who served, I assume you knew what i meant but are insecure about something so had to hit at me.

Joseph @@@@@ was a Corpsman in the Vietnam War and was bestowed the honor of receiving a Bronze Star. Upon his return, he went to Nursing School, became an RN and later became a Nurse Practitioner. Joe was a beloved father, husband and brother, who had a deep love for the New York Rangers, New York Giants, and chocolate milk. He touched the lives of every person that met him and brightened up every room he entered whether it be with his smile or jokes.

Dont be a POS your whole life. It’s a waste of a life.

I never insulted the man who served!

As for insulting you, for writing something STUPID about a man who served (especially a medic) YOU should be so embarrassed, you should hang your head, hide in a closed & change your name!

TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE: Dont be a POS your whole life. It’s a waste of a life.

POS, I assume you know what i mean!!!!

in my platoon we revered our ‘doc’. not only risked himself for us but also for Viet civilians. I was proud that my son also became a combat medic when it was his turn to serve.

And this is government health care, folks. When there is an incompetent employee in government (or an evil one, as in this case), they either promote him to a supervisory position or move him to a different agency.

On the bright side, the man was awarded a cost-saving medal by the national health bureaucracy. (no not really...)
