Black-clad antifa attack peaceful right wing demonstrators in Berkeley
Washington Post ^ | August 28, 2017 | Kyle Swenson

Their faces hidden behind black bandannas and hoodies, about a 100 anarchists and antifa — “anti-fascist” — barreled into a protest Sunday afternoon in Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park.

Jumping over plastic and concrete barriers, the group melted into a larger crowd of around 2,000 that had marched peacefully throughout the sunny afternoon for a “Rally Against Hate” gathering.

Shortly after, violence began to flare. A pepper-spray wielding Trump supporter was smacked to the ground with homemade shields. Another was attacked by five black-clad antifas, each windmilling kicks and punches into a man desperately trying to protect himself. A conservative group leader retreated for safety behind a line of riot police as marchers chucked water bottles, shot off pepper spray, and screamed “fascist go home!”

All told, the Associated Press reported at least five individuals were attacked. An AP reporter witnessed the assaults. Berkeley Police’s Lt. Joe Okies told The Washington Post the rally resulted in “13 arrests on a range of charges including assault with a deadly weapon, obstructing a police officer, and various Berkeley municipal code violations.”

Sunday’s confrontation marked another street brawl between opposing ends of the political spectrum — violence that has become a regular feature of the Trump years and gives signs of spiraling upward, particularly in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville.

"The Trump YEARS"? Seriously? And here I thought he's been in office for seven MONTHS.

If you study the Presidency, barring new major events, the first year of a President's term is the single most important where most achievements occur.

You really don't want to go down Bannon’s whiteboard and checkoff the promises kept do you?

Oh my bad, Bannon’s no longer there. Apparently the whiteboard is gone too.

You’re welcome. It was informative to me about the chain of command and the mask law. I had no idea.

The man has been in office for 7 months and is encountering tremendous resistance from the Swamp for every reform he attempts to make. Having so much corruption to clean up while being under attack from those who are supposed to be on your team would tend to slow one down, don’t you think?

I can be patient, and I will continue to pray for Trump and for our nation.

And the civil lawsuits when the law is not upheld and people get hurt.

What rock have you been living under?

Trump was the FIRST to publicly cast shared blame on the Antifa morons. In a national statement.

I guess you want a wimp like W back in office. haha

I would consider it a “safe bet” to suggest that 98% of those Antifa protesters wouldn”t know what fascism is?

No kidding! What the h#ll is up with all these instant gratification babies? Obviously have no clue that to do things legally, and not like a thug mob, is time consuming.

Badboo hasn’t been here long so perhaps doesn’t know how slow the legal system is. Especially when it’s been controlled by the swamp for over a decade.

"These “Antifa” scumbags are violent depraved sociopaths."

I think it's safe to assume that very few, if any, are willing to die for their cause.

I had to click the link to double-check the headline. I can’t believe they wrote it that way (correctly)!
What are they up to?

Not saying that it applies to this person, but I do believe we are seeing an awful lot of Never-Trump concern trolls on FR since Trump took office.

There are a few here who have even taken to pretending to support Trump just so they can periodically express dismay in his failure to turn the tide on the day after his election.

Yeah, that's the ticket, talk. And if that doesn't work, more talk.

On Charlottesville, Sessions should have said all rights violation will be investigated, including collusion by the Governor and mayor to deprive civil liberties.

Trump has no depth to his bench. In fact he doesn't even have a bench. Without conservatively committed staff, in depth, in every agency, liberal policy and practice will not be reversed.

When your head is cracked or you give up trying to assemble because you know you rights will be violated, instead of complaining or going to the hospital, give me a call so I can give you a talk. It will make the boo boo all better.

You need to change your tag line. A warrior doesn't talk. He finds, targets and destroys the enemy without them ever hearing a sound before the explosion.

Duh, yeah. I heard him say while campaigning that DC was a swamp. So I guess he knew right?

If he can't accomplish his promises, he gets a pass? I don't think so.

First 7 months equals 3/5 ths of his four year term in terms of measured presidential powers and effectiveness.

Don't get me wrong I support all of his promises, but without Pitt bulls leading every agency, tearing the ass off of the fascist Democrats and fake Republicans He doesn't stand a change. He should be in the position of having to pull back his mad dogs who are terrorizing the enemy in order to be the deal maker and get his promises funded and filled.

Instead he is alone, on point, with the platoon behind him long leaving him to the slaughter. He set it up this way.

I don't know if *armed* guards are part of the answer, but those who sponsor, organize, and plan conservative/patriot rallies need to start setting up security, including plans for when the police can't or won't protect us.

So, a prayer service and free speech gathering is a right-wing demonstration?

If they come within arm’s length I’ll certainly try to rip the mask from their commie faces. But also, if you can trail them to where they mask-unmask and get photo or video ID on them, spread it as widely as possible.
